WASHINGTON - May 10 - Amnesty International USA's (AIUSA) Executive Director Larry Cox will release the organization's 2006 Annual Report at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., during a press conference at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23.
The Amnesty International 2006 Annual Report, a 318-page publication, provides an overview of the state of human rights around the world. The report, which covers 150 countries, documents human rights violations during 2005 and reflects the organization's activities during the year to campaign against specific human rights abuses. At this year's launch, AIUSA Executive Director Larry Cox will focus on the widespread lack of government accountability in the war on terror.
