WASHINGTON -- December 7 -- Amnesty international will launch the report Lives Blown Apart, Crimes against women in conflict on 8 December 00:01 GMT as part of its Stop Violence Against Women campaign. The report reveals the global picture of the impact of armed conflict and post conflict situations on women and girls - in all regions of the world - including in Sudan, Afghanistan, Colombia, and Chechnya - and the urgent need for action. It also examines the root causes of the violence as well as the increase of militarization and it puts forward an agenda for action. Spokespeople will be available for interviews in different languages, including English, French, Spanish and Arabic as well as experts on specific countries. There are audio and visual materials to accompany the report, which include interviews with survivors and women's rights activists.
