WASHINGTON -- October 28 -- Progressive Democrats of America will host a breakfast meeting with long time activist and former California State Senator, Tom Hayden. The meeting is open to the public and will be focused on keeping the antiwar voters actively engaged in the Democratic Party, even after Nov 2nd, regardless of the outcome. The Progressive Democratic Movement did not begin with Howard Dean or Dennis Kucinich. It has been in motion for decades. Tom Hayden will present the history of the Progressive movement within the Democratic Party. TOM HAYDEN www.tomhayden.com Tom Hayden, a long-time civil rights and environmental activist, is a co-founder of Students for a Democratic Society and a member of the Chicago Seven, a group whose convictions were reversed on appeal after they were charged with disrupting the 1968 Democratic National Convention. He is also a former California state legislator.
