Crass Action: Senate Poised to Pass Anti-Consumer Bill

WASHINGTON - June 23 - Moving Ideas, the leading source for progressive public policy on the net, has released a new compilation of online resources on the so-called Class Action Fairness Act (S. 2062). Moving Ideas has assembled reports and fact sheets from organizations such as Public Citizen and the National Association of Consumer Advocates.

Pandering to the insurance industry, gas and oil producers and tobacco companies, the Senate has added the Class Action Fairness Act of 2004 to its summer legislative agenda. Anything but fair, this legislation would make it far more difficult for consumers to fight corporate abuse. Big business wants this legislation passed so badly that they have hired over 475 lobbyists to advocate for this anti-consumer legislation.
