WASHINGTON - January 15 - Corporate Crime Reporter releases a report, Public Corruption in the United States, featuring "The Ten Most Corrupt States" and the "Ten Least Corrupt States." The 50-state ranking is based on an analysis of Justice Department prosecutions of public officials -- local, state and federal -- over the last ten years. The report ranks the states based on a "corruption rate" which the report defines as the number of public corruption convictions in the state over the last ten years per 100,000 population.
