ACLU Seeks Documents Outlining Government Policies on Teens' Access To Reproductive Health Services
NEW YORK - November 17 - The
American Civil Liberties Union today asked a federal court to order the
Administration for Children and Families (ACF) to release documents
outlining U.S. policy limiting refugee and undocumented teenagers'
access to important reproductive health services, including
contraceptives and abortion. The ACLU filed today's legal papers after
ACF ignored a Freedom of Information Act request from the ACLU dated
August 19, 2008.

Colorado Voters Defeate Dangerous Amendment and Put Women's Health and Safety First
WASHINGTON - November 5 - Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) stands with voters in Colorado who resoundingly rejected by a three to one margin a ballot initiative that would have eliminated a woman's ability to make personal, private decisions about her health care. Amendment 48 sought to grant legal rights to a fertilized egg. It could have banned all abortions and could have been used to block stem cell research and in vitro fertilization, among other reproductive health services.
