'It's a Global Election'
TALLINN, Estonia - When I arrived in Estonia last week -- a former Soviet republic that lies just south of Finland -- everyone had an opinion on Barack Obama's speech in Berlin. The headline of the British Daily Telegraph we picked up in Finland blared "New Walls Must Not Divide Us," with half-page photos of the American presidential candidate silhouetted against a sea of 200,000 people.
One of the first people I met in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, was Abdul Turay, the editor in chief of The Baltic Times, an English-language weekly that covers Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, the three Baltic nations. Granted, he's not a typical resident for this country of largely fair-haired, light-skinned people: Turay is a black Briton whose parents come from the West African nations of Liberia and Sierra Leone. And he is Muslim. While Estonia has no mosques, he notes with pride that the Quran has just been translated into Estonian, and to the publisher's surprise, it's been an instant best-seller here.
I asked Turay what Obama's candidacy means to him. "It'll open doors for me personally if he becomes president," he said. "It's a momentous thing to have a black president, given America's history. Some people say it's not a big deal, but it is a very big deal. The U.S. is a model for the world. If people see a black man can be president of the U.S., maybe they will see me differently. If he's special, I'm special."
As for Obama's politics, Turay says he doesn't actually think Obama's foreign policy will be that different from fellow presidential candidate John McCain's. He said he was surprised after reading Obama's first book, "Dreams From My Father": "He's almost talking about black nationalism. He's very liberal. He's very much a black politician, whereas today he's a politician who happens to be black." I asked him to explain. "I think that's a question for Barack Obama, not me," he said.
Turay marvels at the importance of the U.S. elections here: "There's more interest in the American election than in the Lithuanian election, which is right next door. It's a global election."
Estonia may be a world away from the United States, but it is intimately tied to U.S. foreign policy. When the U.S. went looking for other countries to join the coalition to attack Iraq and Afghanistan, to give the occupations international legitimacy, Estonia was a charter member -- along with numerous other former Soviet bloc countries of Eastern Europe. President Bush went to Estonia in 2006 to thank them. In 2004, none other than Sens. McCain and Hillary Clinton visited the Baltic nation together as part of a congressional delegation. The story goes that Clinton challenged McCain to a vodka-drinking contest, an Estonian tradition. McCain accepted. When a Clinton aide was asked about it, he replied, "What happens in Estonia, stays in Estonia."
Many feel the Baltic nations' participation in the occupations was quid pro quo for their membership in NATO. Estonia has paid a price, as its soldiers have lost their lives in both Iraq and Afghanistan -- the latter a place where Estonian soldiers have died before, as conscripts of the Soviet army when it invaded Afghanistan in 1979.
A decade later, Estonia was the scene of a nonviolent revolution. Singing has long been a national pastime, and song festivals, in which thousands come together to sing, are a tradition. In April 1988, this gathering turned into a vehicle for mass mobilization. In the Estonian capital, with the country's banned blue, black and white flag unfurled on the back of a motorbike, hundreds of thousands began singing the forbidden national anthem. The movement gained momentum throughout the three Baltic nations. In August 1989, 2 million people joined hands in a Baltic chain spanning hundreds of miles, from Tallinn to Riga to Vilnius, the capitals of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, respectively. Estonia and its Baltic neighbors won their independence in 1991, as the Soviet Union collapsed.
Now, Turay observes, "Estonia looks to America." With Berlin's wall now gone, Turay hopes other walls will soon fall, too. "If the president of America is a black person, other countries will realize that we have people who look like the president who are doing something important. ... I think it will happen everywhere."

Show AllWhich is why, at the very f---ing least, other countries on the planet should send as many reporters and election observers as possible.
We have very little free press in the USA, certainly not in the mainstream, and, increasingly, we are getting our real news from foreign publications. We desperately need more real reporters assigned to the U.S. who aren't at risk of losing their jobs for calling it as they see it here.
We also have a very real threat that the 2008 election will be stolen, as were the 2000 and 2004 elections. We desperately need a foreign polling organization-- one or more-- to conduct comprehensive exit polls to determine whether or not our election is being stolen again. We've not had that in the past. What we currently have in the U.S. is the Edison-Mitosfsky group contracted by the six largest news organizations. They do not release (on purpose) the actual candidate vs. candidate polling results, but routinesly fudge their data to match the official counting results.
We need a reputable polling organization willing to share raw data and project winners on the basis of the exit polls and detect the places in the U.S. where elections are being rigged.
We also need attention focused like a spotlight on the stepped up efforts to disenfranchise Democratic voters with onerous I.D. requirements, registration purges and many other methods (long lines, broken machines, caging, etc., etc.).
Germany wasn't able to stop the rise of fascism by itself when it happened there.
We need the whole world's help to keep fascism from going even further in the U.S.A. It can and is happening here! Please help us stop it! Global citizens everywhere-- now is the time to come to the aid of the planet!
Bottom Line: By years end we will find out how Obama's overseas travel plays in the few states that will decide the outcome of the election.
Clark Kent makes a very good point. Other peoples in other nations cannot vote here, but they perhaps can help hold us accountable to both ourselves and them.
The Republican strategy, as of now, is to make the high school (or less) education crowd rise up and get MAD at Obama's blackness and his "arrogance" (aka, EDUCATION, THOUGHTFULNESS, and foreign APPROVAL.) They're going to try to saturate the air of Appalachia (Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia) plus Michigan to squeak through a win for McCain fueled entirely by bubbas made to hate something and/or church people misled with lies.
I applaud Amy for an article such as above, and my only "critique" at all on this is to ask the question:
"How, in less than 100 days, can the global importance of Obama be impressed on the least educated in America? (Because that's who will decide the election.)
This article is a joke - so a black man is going to open doors of the world? more like a house slave is going to do the bidding of the neo-liberals/cons and continue destroying the planet.
Admin2010-- Your attitude is the enemy talking. A black U.S. President will definitely open doors for other black people all over the world-- believe it. Barack, if we can get a fair election, will make better choices for the Supreme Court, will inspire more people to vote resulting in a better Congress, will help solve foreign policy and environmental policy problems much better than McCain ever would. I, for one, give him the benefit of the doubt that he is partly saying some of the things he's saying now to avoid being crucified by the corporate press and actually get elected. I'm willing to cut him some slack on some things because I do believe he will rise to the office he's seeking in ways similar to Kennedy's changes after being elected.
yeh, its a world election
depending on who wins the murder and death toll will adjust slightly
maybe pakistan if obama wins or iran if mccain wins
like a psychotic crack addict jonesing for a fix the world has to keep an eye on the american murderers
nothing to be proud of
I'll say it again: Obama IS arrogant, he IS elitist, he IS an egotist, he IS a horrible politician. So why not just say yes that's true but so what? This is yet another "horse race" article that harms deluded people into blindly worrying about outcomes on one day in November rather than the negative consequences for progress for the next four years regardless of who "wins" - we all will lose no matter what - so why not work towards getting more alternative parties & independents elected at ALL levels of Government? That's what will help us the most!
Rich, you want to stop "horse race" journalism? Stop the name-calling and focus on the issues.
WTF does it mean to call Obama arrogant, elitist, egotist? How is Obama any more arrogant, elitist or egotistical than any other person in Congress? Your dig about him being a "horrible politician" is laughable-- he's better at it than anyone else in the U.S. That's how he got to be the candidate.
Why don't you just admit you think Obama is "uppity"?
Maybe you're just another "Karl Rove Media Bird"? http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2008/07/31/10735/
Clark, you are the enemy talking - so is Amy Goodman who supports the imperial presidency of Obama. Fact is the killings will continue, as will the plunder of the planet, whose main victims are black and brown - not ameri/euro. whites. Obama will continue to work for his massa, against the black and brown and yellow and red people of the world. If you are not the enemy speaking, Clark, you would be supporting Nader - not Obama. If Amy Goodman was not the enemy speaking, she would be supporting Nader. Not this oreo.
Clark Kent: "I do believe he will rise to the office he's seeking in ways similar to Kennedy's changes after being elected."
How so?
re Clark Kent July 31st, 2008 2:24 pm
who asks a poster "Why don't you just admit you think Obama is "uppity"?"
if obama were "uppity," he would have told the screaming heads on fox to stick their jeremiah wright attacks where the sun don't shine.
if you want to see "uppity" in action, check out cynthia mckinney, cindy sheehan, medea benjamin or the raging grannies.
Anyone that claims to be an independent and ALREADY supports Obama is NOT an independent. He or she is a loyal democrat. Independents won't decide on their strategy until a few days before the election.
I knew it was bad on HuffPo but I see this site has now been invaded by Rethugs and Racists.
Barack was WONDERFUL in Berlin, everyone loved him. 85% of the world wants him to be President of the world. Then he comes home to this old school bought & paid for reThug media and gets crap.
Obama is making America cool again and those old dinosaurs in this country still don't get it.
Us old folks need to step aside now and let the youth control this country because they can get more done in 5 minutes being computer savvy.
Change we do believe in! Obama '08!!
How about we invite them to monitor our elections??? I think this would be a good idea since we monitor everyone else's.
Good idea, Beltway. Better yet, let everybody in the world vote in our elections, since it affects them as much as it does us.
It is a beautifully American thought: send other people to cover our news...I realize that VERY FEW people control the mainstream media, Mr. Kent, but asking other coutries "at the very least" to pick up our slacking democracy will not change, help, or inform the general American public. Hence, other countries will be informed...or waste money trying to be. There is a gross injustice being done to Americans on every level on information (even advertisements don't show the PRODUCT a company is selling...why would politics be any different.) We, as Americans, need to show that we're not content to listen to K. Couric spout half-truths and watch people and dogs make fools of themselves in "reality" shows. So...as far as others reporting for us...no. We just need to take our media and our country back. BEFORE this digital revolution that scares the bejesus out of me.
And, Amy, thanks for always stickin' to the truth in your articles and on Democracy Now. It gets me through the day.
It cracks me up the way you Americans carry on like your votes are actually going to be counted.
The world always ends up with President MAD MIC (Mutually Assured Destruction courtesy of the Military Industrial Complex) no matter which candidate "wins" the election.
Wake me up when you guys have evolved enough to "elect" an atheist, pacifist, poor person. THAT would be a huge leap forward.
DIEBOLD DIEBOLD DIEBOLD just in case you forgot people. As long as you have a system of counting votes that is not accurate you DON'T HAVE DEMOCRACY
What great substance, "I don't care what if he supports genocidal war, fascism, or imperialism, so what? He's black, yay."
Nothing else matters. I suppose we can ignore the crimes of Condi and Colin. Since they're (kind of) black they provide hope to others.
Amy Goodman, it sounds like your brain has hatched into the spring chicken of hope. What is the point of this article?
shandirae, other countries' reporters could be a big help to exposing truth in the USA. The media is fairly global these days-- their stories will reach us. We can't reform US media without help. Certainly not before November.
hazmat-- My point is that if Obama were white and worked his way up from a single parent family, through Harvard Law, into politics and into the Senate, people would not be so quick to call him elitist, arrogant or egotistical. These are Karl Rove talking points (see http://www.commondreams.org/archive/2008/07/31/10735/). I believe these false labels spring more from a racist notion that Obama doesn't "know his place" and that it is only in comparison to what these critics see, in their own minds, as Obama's proper place, that his aspirations may seem overly lofty. As for the examples of "uppity" that you cite, well there are winners and losers. Obama is a winner. The world is where it is, ready for some things and not ready for others. I voted for Kucinich in the primary. Now it's time to support Obama.
Admin2010-- Why would anybody vote for Nader in 2008 when he can't possibly win and it wouldn't even set up the Green Party for future federal campaign funding (as a vote for Cynthia might)? Can you really see no difference between McCain and Obama? Go work for Instant Runoff Voting FIRST, and make it safe for people to vote their preferences.
jlocke123-- Kennedy, I'm told, was not opposed to the Vietnam war, at least publicly, until after he was elected. It was not until after many meetings leading up to a meeting with MLK Jr., that Kennedy decided to support the civil rights movement. Kennedy had a spirit and character that allowed him to learn and change and do the right thing, unlike the current resident who can't even admit to a single mistake. I believe Obama has similar spirit and character, and so does the Kennedy family-- they should know. Obama may have to "quack like a duck" to get elected, but I believe, deep down, he's for real and will serve this country very well.
Gary Chiles
"Wake me up when you guys have evolved enough to "elect" an atheist, pacifist, poor person. THAT would be a huge leap forward."
R.I.P.
I'm still hoping more and more Obama supporters will wake up - esp. the one who said how loved he was in Europe (!) as evidence that we should support him! He IS arrogant, elitist, self-aggrandizing, and "horrible" in the sense that he does not support progressive policies. Enough is enough - wake up - and let's build alternatives to Repubs and Dems, who are not our friends, but are our enemies. No votes for Obama!!
Even if you don't like Obama or hate Obama for that matter, Amy makes a valid point. It would be good in many ways for many people if he won because of who he is. Both in our country and abroad Thats fairly obvious I'd think.
But he has to win the votes of Americans and convince Americans that he would be the best President for America. Doesn't matter what the rest of the world thinks.
If he can't answer all the questions and show he'd be the best President for all Americans he will lose. McCain can't beat him. This is his election to win or lose in my opinion.
"How, in less than 100 days, can the global importance of Obama be impressed on the least educated in America? (Because that's who will decide the election.)"
Good question, though a little condescending.
Maybe each of us should be asking, "What can I do to help Obama get elected?"
When the hell will you guys stop talking about Nader? He got me to sell my Corvair some 45 years ago.... it's/he's over.
Now if one of you Nader guy's want's to become the new 21 century Nader and has the youth, intelligence and charisma to do so that's fine but Nader himself is not going to save us/him/you. It's like reading a 40 year old back issue of the Nation for the 200th time. For us leftist utopians isn't it a bit like the born-again christians always talking about the second coming. Just hold your breath and eye your watch it's only a tick away.
We'll all be standing starving in white robes waiting for that second coming (of Nader) when we could have been busily tending our gardens .... and oh, buy the way, voting for Obama on our day off. GET REAL - GET PRACTICAL - GET PRAGMATIC!
In one speech, Obama captures the attention and admiration of the world. After eight years of "go it alone" arrogance by the Bush administration, it is refreshing that one person may be able to quickly restore our reputation in the world.
Sure some aspects of third party platforms are desirable, but I have seen no one who can rise to the level of statesmanship needed to push their agendas through congress. Certainly not Nader.
Clark - Thanks for your voice of reason.
Rich - We get it already. You don't like McCain or Obama. But I am curious to know what you mean by "progressive policies". I'll start. Undoing FISA would be nice, and so would Kucinich-style trade agreements as an alternative to biased trade agreements like NAFTA. Is this what you're thinking? If so, then I agree in part with you.
This is pure racist drivel.
The fact that Obama happens to have a darker skin pigmentation has absolutely zero to do with his human qualities.
It is the man inside that counts, not the color of skin.
A "Black" president. Make me laugh.
Obama is a corporate prostitute for hire like all the rest. His public statements prove the fact. Tell me now, when did YOU last see an honest man in the whitewashed house?
You never will.
Wage-slaves such as we will be free to form our own human destiny when we rise up and end the terrorist reign of corporate criminals. Or when we finally get to die away from this....horror.
Hey Obamaniacs, there's another thread where "your boy" is getting "burned" and "called names" and "trashed" by having people point out his poor and unconstitutional and classist policy stances and Senate votes.
You should jump over there real quick!
Be sure to call them "Rethugs" just because you can't understand thinking outside of the two parties who con you year after year.
Be sure to call them "Rascists" just becuase they're criticizing someone who is part "non-white" and you are so cravenly PC.
And of course don't forget to remind them how "practical" and "real world" your opinions are because they agree with "Liberal" Cable TV News Pundits.
Have Fun,
-matti.
"He said he was surprised after reading Obama's first book, "Dreams From My Father": "He's almost talking about black nationalism...."
From page 198 of Obamas book
"Nationalism provided that [black] history, and unambiguous morality tale that was easily communicated and easily grasped. A steady attack on the white race, a constant recitation of black peoples brutal experience in this country....Yes, the nationalist would say, whites are responsible for your sorry state, not any inherent flaws in you. In fact, whites are so heartless and devious that we can no longer expect anything from them. The self loating you feel , what keeps you drinking and thieving, is planted by them. Rid them from your mind and find your true power liberated. Rise up ye mighty race!
snip
In a sense, then, Rafiq was right when he insisted that deep down, all blacks were potential nationalists......and I wondered whether, for now at least, [if] Rafiq wasn't also right in preferring that that anger be redirected; whether a black politics that suppressed rage towards whites generally, or one that failed to elevate race loyalty above all else, was a politics inadequate to the task.
It was a painful thought to consider.....It contradicted the morality my [white] mother had taught me...... And yet perhaps it was a framework that blacks in this country could no longer afford; perhaps it weakened black resolve, encouraged confusion within the ranks....If nationalism could create a strong and effective insularity, deliver on it's promise of self respect, then the hurt it might cause well meaning whites, or the inner turmoil it caused people like me, would be of little consequence."
Read the book, and come to your own conclusions.
Now about slavery, some context. Recently I read a book The Slave Trade by Hugh Thomas. A couple of facts from the book.
Slaves accounted for 3/4 of West Africas exports in 1807. Africans were exporting their own people for profit. The abolition of the slave trade by Britain, and the US in 1807 hit African nations hard economically. Muslims considered the Christian behaviour was an attack on Islam. There were in fact more African slaves in Africa than in the Americas. Slaves used to be sacrificed upon the death of an African king. In fact, white men were taken as slaves in Northern Africa, sold by pirates, but in much fewer numbers of course. That was African culture then. Not much better than American culture. Perhaps if this were taught people would be more forgiving of the past.
A total of 11,328,000 slaves were delivered to the Americas from Africa. Only five hundred thousand went to North America, the vast majority before we broke free from the British.
During the Revolution, the British were short of troops and had to recruit mercenaries, which included runaway slaves.
The newly formed US had inherited 500,000 slaves, but most were 2nd and 3rd generation. Keep in mind, the US did not include all of North America, there were large numbers of slaves in Spanish and French controlled territories that were not part of the US at the time and which were later absorbed as we expanded.
The constitution in 1787 prevented Congress from taking action until 1807, a delay of 20 years, preferring the states take a lead. Keep in mind this was a young country, with a Federal Government that was not very well organized, and not very powerful to enforce the few laws it had. It did however make the slave trade to foreign ports illegal. In 1807, Congress made it illegal to import slaves into the US starting from 1808, and made it illegal for any citizen to invest in the trade elsewhere. The handling of freed slaves was left to the states, and slavery was not completely abolished until after the Civil War.
Now, the KKK and treatment of the blacks after the Civil War was not good, no question. The KKK was organized by British loyaltists in the South angered at their loss and who sought to keep America weak, and also in part to intolerance that was prevalent in the 19th century globally. Our country expanded as a result of our Manifest Destiny for crying out loud. Many people in America have been treated poorly in our history, Irish- Italians-Chinese -Japanese-Jews-Catholics-Muslims- Native Americans- Mexicans. Except for the Native Americans, through no fault of their own, most have assimilated well and do not dwell on their ancestors past ill treatment.
America was not a kind country to those who were not well off or different, and is not much better today. The main difference is the elite see all of those below them as slaves, beasts which they have turned into debt slaves. The beasts that make good slaves and pay off their debt will get to stick around.
Now it is obviously the elite through the MSM and even on the internet that there is an effort underway to exacerbate racial divisions. Divide and Rule. Obama seems to be playing along.
When people care more about stage shows and speak, and skin colour, than they do about the same person having numerous times said that he's maintaining the criminally established U.S. military bases and embassy in Iraq, and that he pretends to plan or promise to diminish U.S. presence in Iraq significantly, in order to ESCALATE in the other war zone known as Afghanistan, where the U.S. and its coalition allies had already committed the supreme international crime of war of criminal aggression, given the Taliban had nothing at all to do with the Sep. 11, 2001, attacks on the U.S., as Pres. Bush clearly stated prior to Oct. 2001, and that the Taliban had additionally offered to hand Osama Bin Ladin over to Pakistan, after having only hesitated based on the demand that he receive a just process of law, and Pakistan refused to take OBL; ETCETERA.
When people care more about stage acts and speak, and skin colour, than they do about these other far more important REALITIES, then "GOD DAMN THESE PEOPLE"!.
Of course I do not mean that literally; just had the greatly spoken Rev. Jeremiah Wright in mind, when he said, "GOD DAMN AMERICA", and I had to generalise a little further, to include these idiots in Europe and former states of the USSR.
NO, Obama is not the best candidate of the Dem. Party; Dennis Kucinich was! It's not for no reason that he was unconstitutionally, despotically, corporatistically, etcetera, denied the right to participate in televised debates of Dem. Party candidates; it was because he is a candidate the elites FEAR. They "oddly" don't fear Obama becoming President, and certainly wouldn't fear Billary either.
Obama doesn't maintain a consistent policy; he's been speaking out of both sides of his mouth all along, since becoming a senator anyway. Those are the years that COUNT MOST OF ALL, too.
It's time people stopped trying to read racist attitudes whenever they hear serious doubts raised about Obama. It's also unfair to Amy Goodman to think that she is being racist when she reports the FACT that Obama's skin color is encouraging to vast numbers of dark skinned people everywhere.
That is her job. She is reporting an important fact. It does not reflect her own judgment of Obama. Nor does is mean that she herself is racist. She absolutely is NOT racist.
I've watched her drop everything and do heroic things in times of Crisis in the South Pacific and in Haiti, getting the stories out for Americans and assisting victims when only she could do it.
Also she knows Obama's Senate voting record very well.
US elections = global elections? Only Vladimir Lenin's belief that his revolution was a "global revolution" desired everywhere else tops this kind of megalomania. Look, we are in many ways a good people but for crying out loud, we must abandon the mistaken belief that we are "the shining beacon on the hill" which we are not. Numerous countries have elected women or blacks to their highest offices. We are therefore not leading but only trundling behind.
Clark Kent: I have lived in a fascist-occupied European country during World War 2. Your and other people's false notion that our country is a real or nascent fascist state is egregious nonsense. I assure you that in a fascist USA you would be in a concentration camp before the sun rises the next morning considering what you and others have publicly, and often correctly, said or written about President Bush. Even private remarks of this kind to an informer whom you falsely trusted could get you pronto into the US equivalent of Buchenwald, Dachau, or Oranienburg. Such incarcerations happened in Germany almost immediately after Hitler became chancellor and did not have to wait until his brand of fascism was firmly in place. My father was arrested by the Nazi's in April 1933. Hitler became chancellor in January 1933. Where are Bush's concentration camps for Americans seven years after he was first elected?
poopdeck: We're not claiming that the US is a full-blown fascist police state yet... but that it's slowly but surely moving in that direction.
Mike,
Well first I concur with your opinion that Kucinich was our best Democratic candidate going into this election. I think he dropped out because he realized his top priority was to preserve his congressional seat when the swift boaters started coming after him. We're fortunate to have his alternative voice in DC.
Regarding Afghanistan, I think it's important to remember that the Taliban welcomed Al Qaeda and in large measure enabled 9-11 to happen, conspiracy theories aside. To me it was absolutely stunning when Bush stood in front of America back in 2002 and stated "I am truly not that concerned about [bin Laden]" as his cabal used our national tragedy as a catalyst for their Iraq misadventure.
So I've heard the allegations of Karzai being a puppet, the US enabling poppy fields, Afghanistan being all about getting an oil pipeline, etc, etc. But we need to remember that the Afghanistan question is not that simple because bin Laden and his training camp were there to the best of our knowledge.
Senator Obama's point about needing to shift focus back to Afghanistan appears well-informed by the current situation on the ground, as we have troops in harm's way there and the possibility of a Taliban resurgence is real.
Please note that I've used phrases like "appears" and "best of our knowledge" in recognition that we must fairly question every report coming from every media channel these days. I read a lot and do my best to separate wheat from chaff in considering what the facts are.
poopdeck: Do you really want to know?
Q: Where are Bush's concentration camps for Americans seven years after he was first elected?
A: They are alive and well and ready to take custody of millions of Americans in the weeks, maybe months, ahead.

It's later than we think, friend.
BTW, I never said Obama was the best candidate. I said he was the best politician. He knows how to play the game and win. I believe his victory, if we can keep the R's from stealing the white house again, will be a small victory for all of us, not so much because of what he's currently saying, but because of the impressions of people I know who've met him personally. I'm tired of being a loser with all the right answers. I'm ready to be a winner with answers that are somewhat better than the status quo.
Thus, I urge people to be practical and support Obama at this time. Work for Green congressional candidates and Instant Runoff Voting, too, if you want to move things even further forward. Just don't support a spoiler for the white house. A vote for Nader is a vote for McCain.
Can't wait on Goodman's next article supporting Nader's campaign. After all she is always talking about going "where the silence is". Who's campaign is being more blacked out by major media-Obama's or Nader's?
I know. I know. Nader has been on "Democracy Now". However her daily news reports continually report on only McCain and Obama. We are in trouble until people like Goodman start taking Nader seriously enough to report on the Nader campaign in a continuous way that gives him equal time with the other candidates.
