Pressure Builds to Send Karl Rove to Jail
With the House Judiciary Committee planning a hearing Friday on the Bush administration's use of executive privilege, public pressure is building to urge the committee to jail Karl Rove, the Bush White House political maestro.
A coalition of organizations gathered 80,000 signatures on a petition calling on the committee to hold Rove in contempt for his refusal to obey its subpoena. Brave News Films, author of an earlier Internet effort to kick Joseph Lieberman out of the Democratic Party after his endorsement of Republican John McCain, released its petition, Send Karl Rove to Jail, in hopes of compelling Rove
to testify under oath about his involvement in the prosecution of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman.
As Countdown reported here Monday, Democrat Siegelman was investigated by a Republican U.S. attorney with ties to Rove. She later recused herself from his case, but allegations of partisan influence in the case persist. Siegelman's conviction on political corruption charges is on appeal.
For his part, Rove has refused to testify before Congress, citing executive privilege.

Show AllLisa,
What I find amusing about your Nader rants is that you paint yourself as some kind of bead-wearing, long-haired, barefoot hippy, living in a cave with no electricity and no coffee, angrily picking at the specks in the eyes of our most progressive candidates like Nader, while being completely oblivious to the humongous beam jetting out from the eye of your chosen candidate, the status quo establishment's very own: the lying, hand-groomed, pro-corportist, pro-war, pro-status quo, pro-FISA capitulator, SOB Obama.
Sorry, it's just humorous trying to visualize the image of a no-nonsense, anti-establishment, flower-child radical sporting an Obama sticker on her bicycle. And that's the truth.
Obama posed as an antiwar candidate during the primaries but now reveals himself to be every bit as hawkish as McCain.
-Obama calls for increasing military spending
-Obama want to add an additional 90,000 troops
-Obama wants to 'surge' in Afghanistan
Is Obama better than Ralph because his investments were with companies that eat at the governments Homeland Security trough instead of the MIC trough?
On balance, I argue that on what can be considered the most important issue of all, the warmongering that kills people and super inflated military spending which Obama is a cheerleader for and which starves domestic programs that help people, Ralph is waaaay preferable and at least he would end the war-NOW, not continue it by shifting troops from Iraq to Afghanistan.

-Until recently most of Obama's investments was tied up with conservative mutual funds. Obama also has stock with Skyterra Communications and AVI Biopharma, both happen to get a lot of money from a source Obama should be familiar with: the federal government.
Skyterra Communications and AVI Biopharma, aside from sharing the same deep-pocketed benefactor, the two have one more thing in common. They both provide services in an area that has become a hot-button issue on Capitol Hill and with the electorate: homeland security.
Lisa are you ok with Obama's Homeland Security investments but not ok with Ralph's having Raytheon stock?
Was there a conflict of interest there for Obama?
You claim Ralph is responsible for Raytheon manufacturing cluster bombs. Is it okay to pin any and all inappropriate activities and purchases made by Homeland Security on Obama as a kind of tit for tat?
formernadervoter; did you become a "former" nader voter because of Ralph's current holdings in Raytheon, a leading maker of CLUSTER BOMBS???
Or Nader's current investments in Dow Chemicals (Napalm), Wal-Mart and General Dynamics? Is he still a hero to you??
Or did you make a mistake there?
CHILDREN. CLUSTER BOMBS. RALPH NADER. Say it all in the same sentence, because that's how it is. Dead maimed children, and Ralph's 'money' is there, mixed up with their body parts and blood.
Rove followed orders.

Obama 08? More of the same. Whether it be free markets, war on terror, FISA, nuke power, merit pay for teachers, standardized testing, Israel, against democracy in Latin America, for illegal sanctions on Cuba, increasing war budget, expanding NATO, keeping our 700 base world wide empire, etc, etc, and on and on McCain=Obama. Is that what you really want? More of the same?
And why is Rove still walking free? When will the rule of law be established in this country?
Rove: Republican Asshole.
Siegelman, Democrat: There ARE differences between the two parties.
Obama '08.
Judiciary Committee, Waxman on point ain't it? A Democrat?
There is much to thank Rove for if you hate anybody who is not "your base" (too much money for their single digit EQ capacities)- you can Swift Boat them, brazenly lie about them at various hearings and in the fascist media, and effectively turn almost any real Government agency into Jack Booted fascists on somebody's (way sorry) ass- and Rove is the "conductor" of all this pain.
Yes, we should conduct his sorry ass to jail, any jail, all jails in the USA where many people are there from the type of false legal proceedings he's had a hand in all his sorry career.
Then see who picks up the soap, gets the cute tattoos, makes new friends and learns about something new to swallow on his knees- this to go along with the truth he has always swallowed- and spewed out as hate.
Let's see if the compromised and cowardly Democrats actually do anything. I give it a 1 in 50 chance. I guess I'm an optimist.

book 'em, danno.
then waterboard him.
(at least i didn't suggest we torture him, right?)
It's not torture if it's done in "good faith" ....
well i'm going to hold for hope that ppl in congress that have either lost their minds... their ability to understand the full ramifications of their duties of office or just simply get a backbone... start doing the job that they were elected into office to do...
and if it doesnt happen over the next few months.... i'm seriously considering looking for another country to live in (which apparently more and more americans are doing!)
Dismember him and send the separate parts around the world.I was seeing an image of my head and hands laying out on the ground.Maybe that will be his just rewards since his actions caused others to be in just that scenario.
Is the government waiting to see if the mob will actually lynch these bastards ourselves?
Rove is a start; but for lasting effect----go directly to the top, and work on down, that should keep the legal community busy for many years.
"Turd Blossom" would soon become the jail house snitch, and Bush and Cheney would be turning sexual favors for cigarettes and candy bars.
Otherwise the world is laughing at the USA.
Because the USA gives them so much material to work and laugh with.
Water board his flabby ass, find out who did 911. Then, watch the house of cards fall.
They should tie this moth~!@#f~!er up and pit-roast him till the only thing sticking out is his middle-finger.
Off with his head!
Throw him in jail today. It will be much less embarrassing than us citizens showing up with buckets of tar and feathers tomorrow.
I just signed and it's up to over 99,000 signatures so far. Don't think it matters if it goes to 300 million as long as bush/cheney/pelosi/reid are still at the helm, but we have to try.
When Karl came to Vancouver this year, I really hoped that he would be arrested on war crimes... alas, he wasn't.

I signed the petition. I hope everybody in this country signs it.
guilty til proven innocent (oh yeah, no habeaus corpus for this fascist)
I wish the people could send Turdblossom to jail without a trial. You know, the justice in the old west that good ole Dubya embraces which he calls 'Cowboy Justice' or 'Cowboy Politics'. Good ole Western justice. Hang 'em high!
What for? Atrocious contempt for Congress?
This congress has earned it and the Corporation's Thief, De Jour will simply grant a 'get out of jail free' card and pilory all those who stood up for truth and justice.
Welcome to the Neo CristoCorporate Dictatorship.
Wish they'd have that whole story on the Siegelman affair. I saw it one time, and was horrified how swiftly and efficiently the bush/cheney grinding machine removed this popular Democrat from the running so a repug would be elected.
Send him to Gitmo and waterboard him indefinitely......
Maybe then he will realize his folly. It will be a favour for him as he will get the much need practice for hell.

then waterboard him.
