It was the "white kids" you see, and their parents made a lot of noise on the east coast. Here's how I imagine the exchange went, after the Klan guys got popped.

The work of COINTELPRO from the 60's to the late 70's was a primary attack to crush the extension of the Roosevelt Legacy of economic and social justice to ALL Americans. Their job from Day 1 has been to keep the races, the genders, and the classes in their place under Master. My understanding of this new FBI Authority is that it establishes the practice of not only using race to open an investigation but travel history and access to weapons. (The travel history being to places where terror activity is a major concern coupled with the ability to gain weapons easily.) Operation Thermcon was the FBI's covert operation against Earth First! The strategy was to try to get EF!ers involved with explosives and then bust them for it very publicly. For maximum PR impact it had to involve known EF! leaders, like co-founder Dave Foreman, which is proven, and probably Judi Bari, which is suspected but not proven. The FBI used an undercover agent provocateur to infiltrate a small group of Arizona desert activists who were loosely identified with EF! and try to get them to use explosives, offering to get them the explosives and teach them how to use it. The EF!ers declined, but the infiltrator got them to use an acetylene cutting torch to try to take down a power line to a pumping station that supplied water to enable suburban sprawl development. The FBI provocateur supplied the equipment, taught the activists how to use it, drove them to the target site, and wore a hidden tape recorder throughout the process. Of course the 3-4 activists walked right into the arms of the waiting cops. There were big headlines. They roped Foreman in on a conspiracy charge for giving a small amount of money to one of the activists. The FBI undercover agent accidentally recorded some of his conversation with other cops on his hidden wire. Transcripts of the tape produced in the pretrial discovery process had the agent saying to the other cops (paraphrased): Foreman isn't the guy we need to bust to protect the public from bombers; Foreman is the guy we need to bust to send a message, and that's all we're really doing .... oops! We don't need that on tape.

The big bust in the Arizona case took place a year before the Judi Bari bombing. The trial of the Arizona activists took place after the Bari bombing. In other words, Operation Thermcon, a proven FBI covert operation to discredit and "neutralize" Earth First!, was an ongoing case when Bari was bombed and then the FBI immediately framed her as a "terrorist who was nearly killed when a bomb she was transporting for nefarious purposes accidentally exploded in her car." Judi Bari was a very prominent EF! leader and advocate of nonviolent direct action who was much in the media at the time because she was organizing a summer of mass protests against liquidation logging of the redwood forests of Northern California. Judi survived the blast, but was crippled for the rest of her life. She was never charged with a crime, because all the evidence pointed to her being the target of the bomb rather than being a bomber. Judi fought for then next seven years to clear her name of the false media smears branding her and EF! as terrorists. She filed suit against the FBI and their accomplices, the Oakland Police, charging violation of her First and Fourth Amendment Rights by false arrest and false statements to the media. Judi died of breast cancer in 1997, while the FBI continued to drag out her lawsuit and prevent it coming to trial. Her family, supporters and legal team continued the suit until Judi was exonerated by a $4.4 million federal jury verdict against the FBI agents and Oakland cops involved in trying to frame her. A full 80% of the damages were for First Amendment violation by trying to discredit her and neutralize her efforts to organize politically in defense of the forests.

A couple more points in closing: The FBI's official codename COINTELPRO stood for "Counterintelligence Program" but that's not what it really was. It was not just an investigation of possible criminal activity either. It was a domestic covert operation against individuals, groups and movements that J. Edgar Hoover in his omnipotency decided were "subversive" to the established order.

Although COINTELPRO was officially terminated after it was exposed to public scrutiny, former FBI agents have said that the same methods continued to be used, but under different names, and they made sure that there was no documentary record of these illegal, unconstitutional activities that could be exposed.

If the FBI is going to monitor and disrupt groups with communist and socialist ties, I would think they would want to start with Congressional members who allowed the banking system to exploit U.S. citizens and others with twisted mortgage instruments that were doomed to fail in a country where millions of jobs were being outsourced and cheap labor brought in to undermine American jobs and wages while the greatest transfer of wealth was trickling-up to the top 1% in this country.

And now that some of the wealthiest bankers in this country have successfully increased their personal fortunes on the mortgage scam while driving the banking system into the ground, "we the people" have been notified by our leaders that the financial losses of the largest banks in this country will be "socialized" or paid for by its tax-paying citizens.

Next week we probably get to see the Bankster "game" start to come to fruitition. Many of those in denial of the coming economic collapse of America will be forced to wake up from their 30 year dream state. But it is already too late to stop this freight train.

This statement is weird. In the House, 80 Dimwit traitors voted to expand illegal spying on Americans and for teleco immunity. In the Senate, only 15 voted against cloture on the FISA "fix" bill. So, where does the "over half of them are holding out on the FISA bill" number come from?

The fact is that Repugs and Dimwits in Congress will not stand up to protect and defend the Constitution. Most do NOT represent "we the people". Our two party system is broken beyond repair. The current system is so rigged that your vote doesn't count anyway. Better to vote for integrity.
