Great job, Dennis! I watched the reading on C-span from 8-11 pm. Dennis's 35 points sounded like a convincing legal brief and, if presented to an impartial jury or a panel of judges (ones who have a respect for truth and Constitution) would undoubtedly convict Bush/Chaney on most of the 35 accounts of violating Constitution. It would be great if Nader/Gonzales and EVERYBODY else who wants to save America join their legal minds and do something (i.e. get the destroyers of American democracy) out of power BEFORE it is NOT too late.

If for nothing else, the 35 points may be useful for preventing a war with Iran and getting Obama serious about pulling out of Iraq AND Afganistan. Peace department is a MUST if USA is to survive)!

While the mass media will not give either Dennis or Nader time to educate ordinaty Americans, I am sure that Democratic and Republican party are noticing what is happening with America. While Democrats who have most of the power (such as Pelosi, Clinton and a few others) ignore Dennis and Nader, Obama is smart enough to listen. Let's raise the question why Kucinich endorses the Democratic candidate for president when Nancy Polosi said that impeachment is off the table. If Kucinich wants to endorse George Bush for impeachment while endorsing the Democrats, that's wrong. He should have run as an independent presidential candidate right up to the finish line calling for the impeachment of Bush all the way. He's a coward, claiming to support brave initiatives but then caving into the demands of the Democrats. The textbooks will include this theme (the theme already is appearing in recent Political Science texts). Last night Keith Olbermann invited Law Professor Jonathan Turley, an expert on Constitutional Law, to be on the show and Turley indicated even among legal circles, experts are baffled by this same point. A cornucopia of literature is emerging (if it is not censored and suppressed by the government), and hopefully this theme will be the subject of many good lectures and discussions in colleges and universities well into the future.

On another note, I applaud folks like Turce who will show up at the hearing on Capitol Hill and let the dirilects hear about their egregious mistakes, including lack of fulfillment of duty. Turce, stick it to them!

Its not who owns Pelosi, its what she owns. And what a number of other government officials own. And what they own is stock in the numerous companies making billions off this occupation. When it ends, their retirement accounts go from leeps and bounds to a dwindle.

Kucinich's actions are too little too late. I won't say that is was just an intentional fluff without bite since he did bring the Cheney impeachment last year.

This could be two possible things, a calculated effort to bring some 'respectability' among progressives to the democratic party without really changing anything (since the impeachment will most likely fail and everybody, including Kucinich knows it)

or:

Kucinich is making a real attempt to at least get a record / vote in congress that there was some realization that crimes were committed by the president Bush, even though there won't be any impeachment. This would be a valid reason, because you have to do the right thing even if it won't succeed. I believe that there is less of a chance of this since Kucinch has always protected the democratic party first and foremost (ie- his withdrawal from the 2004 presidial race a few days before the democratic convention which effectively silenced the antiwar voice at the convention.)

Hopefully time will tell why Kucinich presented impeachment proceedings against George Bush.

Dennis is one of the few members of Congress who is actually doing what they swore an oath to do.

The rest would be turned out at election if our civic culture was based on truth and justice.

This one should be a no brainer. How can you not impeach Bush and Cheney? They have violated their oath of office and committed numerous crimes.

With a little courage on the part of House Democrats, this thing could work. Even though there are not enough Democrats in the Senate to remove Bush and Cheney, you may depend upon it that a number of Republicans will not politically throw themselves on a grenade to protect two unpopular lame chickenhawks. Once hearings have made the extent of Bush's and his co-conspirators' criminality common knowledge, public outrage will force them to convict.

These hearings will also lay the groundwork for criminal prosecutions, if issues of immunity are wisely handled (Ollie North got off because of immunity granted for his congressional testimony), for new legislation to prevent future abuses, and for the demise of neoconservatives and their evangelical water carriers as major political forces.

We shouldn't just sweep an ugly mountain of war crimes, abuses of power, fraud, destruction of evidence, manipulations of the Justice Department and other serious offenses under an already bulging rug. To restore the rule of law and the respect of the world, we must act decisively. Justice must be done, and be seen to be done.

The key to Kucinich's bravery and clarity is that he is a pacifist, a vegan and lives simply. Dennis lives what he believes. If anyone anywhere wants to join Dennis, establish peace in our time, heal human relations and the earth, then consider these three options of free will and the clarity they bring.

Some have courage and commitment for honesty and truth. Dennis Kucinich is one of these, maybe the only, in the House of Representatives. This I judge by listening to the noise and failure of the speaker to call for order. So will the House do anything? I wonder.

The media have completely ignored it.
The media lies often enough,but their most potent tool is how much coverage they will give to an event. 9/11 was something to put on the headlines every day for years. The impeachment proceedings, and anything else that exposes the truth is something to ignore completely. I suppose if there was to be a Nuremberg trials for this, then our media are all guilty.

A Yahoo News search on "Kucinich Impeachment" revealed that this story received very sparse notice in the corporate media. There was a very brief story on AP wire and Reuters that was picked up by CBS, a few daily newspapers including the Boston Globe and the LA Times, a few local TV stations, nasdaq (!) and Yahoo!News. There was a brief mention on FOX news, and one sentence in the St.Louis Post Dispatch. Missing entirely: ABC,NBC,CNN,MSNBC, PBS,NPR,BBC North America, aol news, msn news, and about 1000 other dailies.

It is fair to say that most Americans know nothing about this story and most of the rest know very little.

If you think it important to get this story out, and you're sick and tired of the media moguls deciding what news we can see, I suggest you send out a "News Chain Alert". A good brief article with a recognized brand name is the Politico story on the CBS website, or the Huffington Post story is good but a source that might inspire less trust in some.

Kucinich brings out a sense of pride not normally associated with public figures at this time.
I don't think that impeaching and prosecuting Bush would solve the problem, however. I don't think he's the only one behind this. But one step at a time I guess.

I was mad crazy last night on this sight, it was @ 12:40 am EST when Dennis finished.
