I should have stated above that the country would rather support Bush supporters.....both Clinton and McCain.

I didn't vote today because I am not satisfied with any of the candidates. Out of them all I would have voted for Obama but I don't like Obama's view on nuclear energy or on health care. It is corporate's first as usual.

10,000,000 e-mails missing? Happens to me all the time. Especially when they're likely to contain evidence of a criminal conspiracy. I'm sure it's just an oversight.

It seems like this country thrives on abuse, whether it is people, animals or nature.

But the one thing they won't do is to risk waking up the American people by actually canceling an election.

All one has to do is go to the MSNBC political page and that speaks volumes. McCain has 378 delegates to Clinton's 236. This is what gets me..New York, Clinton 41, McCain 101. People have not learned a thing from the past. People are just bitter. They truly don't have a clue. A majority of people are supporting a past Bush supporter.

So this story will be history. But God help a disabled person that wins $1000 in the lottery, they will have those winnings deducted from their disability check. Our country is SO self-alienated. They support abusers.

Another exemplary example of Orwellian New Speak: When asked about 10 million missing e-mails the White House responds: "There is no reason to believe that any e-mails or other data are missing."

I'll bet they aren't just missing, they've probably been destroyed. Next Muk is asked to assign a fox to look for the emails in the hen house. Nice. Also notice it's an advocacy group leading a demand for an investigation and not the Bend-over_crats. They're cool.

As I mentioned, e-mail travels from MTA to MTA (mail transfer agents) in plaintext, from hop to hop, between source and destination.

For ordinary packets, it's possible to issue a traceroute command on any modern operating system and see what systems your traffic passes through from A to B. Any intermediary systems, when e-mail is involved, could potentially archive the contents of the messages. At the very least, ordinary logs should establish source and destination, datetime stamp, etc.

The fact that I hear absolutely nothing technical in these articles tells me that it's merely a political charade, for our amusement only. They'll drag this baby out until November and then deep six it.

It occurred to me a while back that if they want to find the missing emails, they should subpoena AT&T to go through the ones that they collected illegally. It wouldn't be too hard to search just those with the Republican Party and the White House addresses. And those haven't been thrown away.

Maybe they can get Gonzales to be the prosecuter.

Of course there will be an election. If they actually cancelled the election, that would risk waking up the American people to the fact that their democracy and freedoms are dead and gone. So, we'll have exactly what we've been having. A very tightly controlled election where the only candidates that can be elected are all committed to the same agenda of corporate power and are backed by corporate money.

So sure, you can choose between Obama and Hillary and McCain and Romney. They are all safe bets to the corporate power that runs the country, so they won't give a damn which one you choose. Just like you could replace the Republican majority in Congress with a Dem majority and it made very little difference in what's happening in this country.

But the one thing they won't do is to risk waking up the American people by actually canceling an election.

Yes, Claudius, that's true. I have said the same thing many times here at commondreams and not a single person has ever come forward to help set up the trials that are needed. The moral of this story is: Kill millions, not dozens. Killing dozens is a crime, killing millions is what great people do. And if you rebel, the great people will try you for treason in the court system they have already set up to protect them from people like you.

This past weekend Henry Waxman did an interview with Bill Moyers. He basically is totally frustrated with the Bush Admin (gee, no surprise). Moyers did not ask him what he intends to do with the results of all of these investigations. In other words, it was a waste of everyone's time because Waxman and the Dems will not do anything. The worst fraud and plunder ever to take place at the federal level in this country's history will sache out the door and forever leave its trail of stench behind for all of us to smell. Do we the people want to do anything before these crooks leave office with all of the loot they have plundered from us since our government has abandoned us?

Where is Henry Waxman and his crack investigative committee on this one? And if investigated, what will he DO with the findings? Anything? Maybe a press release? Maybe an interview with Moyers?

Certainly NOT impeach. He's part of the herd following Shepard Nancy off the cliff of "impeachment is off the table."

Instead of LISTENING to his constituents who elected him to represent OUR best interests, he continues to parrot the party leadership line and tell us that he "disagrees."

Gee, Henry, you work for US. Ever think about that lately? You've been an incumbent so long that maybe this relationship has been forgotten. Certainly seemed so in that Town Hall on Dec 27th when the majority of questioners OPPOSED your cavalier position against impeachment.

What you and others like you need is serious opposition in the Democratic primaries. Jane Harman certainly took note last time around when she was challenged by Marcy Winograd of Progressive Democrats of America (LA).

Unfortunately, the thousands of lobbyist dollars you receive scare off any serious opponents....thus keeping our Congress in gridlock. A Congressional approval rating LOWER than the worst president in American history is the result. Have you noticed that lately?

Let's look at the picture. Destroyed CIA tapes recording torture, deletion of millions of emails, more than 900 documented lies misleading the United States into illegal occupation of another country, and a host of other documented and known falsifications. It does not take a genius to figure out what is happening here. These are criminal acts. Since the Congress will not step up, and the DoJ will not do anything, it is up to the people of this country to hold these criminals in the White House and Congress accountable. We need to set up our own tribunals that bypass the courts, the Congress, and the Unitary Executive to try and convict these criminals. It is the only way we will be able to change things in this country since our government basically has abandoned us (treason??). Are we not entitled to form another government to replace this corrupt bunch of traitors and opportunists who have unlawfully and willingly abrogated their power and duties? Perhaps we need to draft a new Declaration of Independence? It seems to me that this is our only option if we want to make meaningful change in this country.

Doesnt make any difference, gone or archived they will be wrapped up in "executive privilege" never to be seen for at least 50 years - long after our history books glorify the reign of "George the lesser".

The 18 minute gap on the Nixon tapes kinda pales when compared to this wholesale destruction of records.
