Many like Kristol have a reputation to maintain after having advocated and agitated for a war with Iran for so long. Yet they delude themselves and us that yet another and bigger war on top of Iraq is a perfectly reasonable idea!

The drama of signing the PNAC plan! Why is this document even important? Because people like Kristol signed it evidently. I could care less at their embarassing treehouse 'boy's club no girls allowed' oath of intent, to create an american EMPIRE! See they all signed it. Was this grown up version of a treehouse club's pirate's oath signed in blood, this oath of intent to create an empire through military means? That would have really been dramatic and a sadly apt irony because by definition a military empire means bloodshed.

No it wasn't WMDS back then. The Office of Special Plans and Douglas Feith betrayed us. And Feith betrayed our faith in ourselves. And they all betrayed America's democracy when they lied us into Iraq to build bases for an imperial presence.

So Iraq we were told was supposed to be "welcoming us with open arms and flowers" Well we ended up greeting those open arms and flowers with shock and awe and Abu Ghraib? No... it wasn't ever about regime change either nor later was it to be bringing democracy (we brought destruction not democracy) nor even at present, is it to bring stability. Our presence has destroyed their country and

Iraq was the required necessary step, first because having a staging area was needed to fight a big overseas war (Iran)... and oh yeah... and to establish PNAC's American Empire's presence in the mid-east.

Iraq's oil was to have paid for the short 'six months tops' war and provide a balance for when Iran would cut off it's oil during a war. Oddly the only real planning that was done for Iraq was in this setting up the empire's castra for a war with Iran.

He has advocated this in print for years (that's the reputation I meant, his PNAC bona fides etc.) for so long, he and presumably the other PNAC signers know that this may be their last chance to start their long held plan for a war with Iran and establishing what apparently is supposed to be a permanent military presence in the region.

Now they 'leak' a plan about a massed air strike to 'take out the Iranian Military at one time' which is certain to cause mass destruction of the country's infrastructure using heavy air power. Um...why?

Oh yes! The plan! The PNAC plan for empire. Evidently we are planning a pearl harbor type first strike invasion but first we announce our intent to do so, ahead of time?

These are the same people that brought you Iraq. I have complete faith in their ability to handle another war with the same skill and ability that they have shown us in the war and occupation of Iraq.

Oh yeah I almost forgot. After the air war what then? Does Kristol mention occupying Iran. Oh no not again!

There was no real plan for aftermath of 'Mission Accomplished' as we see these four plus years of war and a failed occupation.

There was never a plan for Iraq... the plan having always been Iran... so we occupy Iraq... but will we be forced to also occupy Iran?

Can I join a treehouse club and sign a pirate's oath to start an empire too. I want an empire. Doesn't everyone? Our PNAC empire is based on our occupying! War, destruction and lots of dead, dying and what do we want? We want to occupy them. Some plan that is huh?

We occupy Afghanistan...we occupy Iraq... I guess after the air war the plan for Iran will be to occupy Iran? Of course if there is a war with Iran then the extremists will gain Pakistan and then Kristol will have a plan ... to occupy that too.

I think both Putin and China would see our war with Iran as against their interests... Oh no! I hope Kristol doesn't plan...have a plan...PNAC's plan to occupy them too?

The plan for occupying Iraq was to set up for war with Iran but the plan for Iran is to set up an occupation like in Iraq?

Or what happens after we launch this much publicized pearl harbor style first strike ...big John Wayne finale ...bomb their military to smithereens war with Iran and then...?

Um...and then what? We just go home like nothing happened? Maybe they won't mind that we bombed them? Why some PNAC signee somewhere is ready to explain just how come after our attacking them, that the Iranians will ...welcome our semi-permanent occupation with open arms and flowers in the street.

Just like they do in Iraq ...?

I saw and heard two encouraging things yesterday...David Letterman before Bill Clinton's guest appearance came up with some new videos of "great moments of presidential speeches" and it was the first time I saw on TV, Ike warning us about the Military Industrial Complex.....amazing change for NBC. They used to fire the Smothers Brothers for that kind of truth telling.

Also I agreed to sing again for Dennis at the meet up the next time he comes to Tampa, and they told me that he now favors Impeachment of Bush/Cheney together....If he would come out and and make it plain to everyone, I think he would double or triple his support quickly.

There's one thing that most people who've been in combat seem to know. That is the difference between facts and theory. To someone in combat, facts are what can get them killed, so they learn to pay very close attention to the facts of the world around them.

If you are in combat, and you are paying too much attention to someone's theory or idealogy, and that causes you to not notice a fact or to disregard a fact, the penalty is usually that you end up dead. Or if you are a leader, you get your men killed.

People who've been in combat tend to have a very healthy regard for facts, and also a healthy disregard for intel estimates and theories, etc.

My father has been an anti-war activist since the sixties. He used to take us to anti-Vietnam War rallies and marches when we were kids. He's still actively involved, even though he is in his seventies, in anti-war activities. He is also a Korean War veteran who lost an eye during his service. OK Bugs don't twist your tail into a knot. The PNAC document is important because it is and was the blueprint for the Bush presidency. Even today, every mind-numbingly and disastrously inhumane proposal coming from lame-duck Bush was written in the PNAC document. I've had an electronic copy of that document in my possession since before the invasion and have read it many times.

The body of that document is a predictable 100 year wish list of the military industrial complex. But the real rub is in the prefacing remarks concerning the neocons' belief that the American way has succeeded foreveor and anon as the best of all possible worlds.
