Will Bush Cancel The 2008 Election?
It is time to think about the "unthinkable."
The Bush Administration has both the inclination and the power to cancel the 2008 election.
The GOP strategy for another electoral theft in 2008 has taken clear shape, though we must assume there is much more we don't know.
But we must also assume that if it appears to Team Bush/Cheney/Rove that the GOP will lose the 2008 election anyway (as it lost in Ohio 2006) we cannot ignore the possibility that they would simply cancel the election. Those who think this crew will quietly walk away from power are simply not paying attention.
The real question is not how or when they might do it. It's how, realistically, we can stop them.
In Florida 2000, Team Bush had a game plan involving a handful of tactics. With Jeb Bush in the governor's mansion, the GOP used a combination of disenfranchisement, intimidation, faulty ballots, electronic voting fraud, a rigged vote count and an aborted recount, courtesy of the US Supreme Court.
A compliant Democrat (Al Gore) allowed the coup to be completed.
In Ohio 2004, the arsenal of dirty tricks exploded. Based in Columbus, we have documented more than a hundred different tactics used to steal the 20 electoral votes that gave Bush a second term. More are still surfacing. As a result of the King-Lincoln-Bronzeville federal lawsuit (in which we are plaintiff and attorney) we have now been informed that 56 of the 88 counties in Ohio violated federal law by destroying election records, thus preventing a definitive historical recount.
As in 2000, a compliant Democrat (John Kerry) allowed the coup to proceed.
For 2008 we expect the list of vote theft maneuvers to escalate yet again. We are already witnessing a coordinated nationwide drive to destroy voter registration organizations and to disenfranchise millions of minority, poor and young voters.
This carefully choreographed campaign is complemented by the widespread use of electronic voting machines. As reported by the Government Accountability Office, Princeton University, the Brennan Center, the Carter-Baker Commission, US Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) and others, these machines can be easily used to flip an election. They were integral to stealing both the 2000 and 2004 elections. Efforts to make their source codes transparent, or to require a usable paper trail on a federal level, have thus far failed. A discriminatory Voter ID requirement may also serve as the gateway to a national identification card.
Overall, the GOP will have at its command even more weapons of election theft in 2008 than it did in Ohio 2004, which jumped exponentially from Florida 2000. The Rovian GOP is nothing if not tightly organized to do this with ruthless efficiency. Expect everything that was used these past two presidential elections to surface again in 2008 in far more states, with far more efficiency, and many new dirty tricks added in.
But in Ohio 2006, the GOP learned a hard lesson. Its candidate for governor was J. Kenneth Blackwell. The Secretary of State was the essential on-the-ground operative in the theft of Ohio 2004.
When he announced for governor, many Ohioans joked that "Ken Blackwell will never lose an election where he counts the votes."
But lose he did....along with the GOP candidates for Secretary of State, Attorney-General and US Senate.
By our calculations, despite massive grassroots scrutiny, the Republicans stole in excess of 6% of the Ohio vote in 2006. But they still lost.
Why? Because they were so massively unpopular that even a 6% bump couldn't save them. Outgoing Governor Bob Taft, who pled guilty to four misdemeanors while in office, left town with a 7% approval rating (that's not a typo). Blackwell entered the last week of the campaign down 30% in some polls.
So while the GOP still had control of the electoral machinery here in 2006, the public tide against them was simply too great to hold back, even through the advanced art and science of modern Rovian election theft.
In traditional electoral terms, that may also be the case in 2008. Should things proceed as they are now, it's hard to imagine any Republican candidate going into the election within striking distance. The potential variations are many, but the graffiti on the wall is clear.
What's also clear is that this administration has a deep, profound and uncompromised contempt for democracy, for the rule of law, and for the US Constitution. When George W. Bush went on the record (twice) as saying he has nothing against dictatorship, as long as he can be dictator, it was a clear and present policy statement.
Who really believes this crew will walk quietly away from power? They have the motivation, the money and the method for doing away with the electoral process altogether. So why wouldn't they?
The groundwork for dismissal of both the legislative and judicial branch has been carefully laid. The litany is well-known, but worth a very partial listing:
The continuation of the drug war, and the Patriot Act, Homeland Security Act and other dictatorial laws prompted by the 9/11/2001 terror attacks, have decimated the Bill of Rights, and shredded the traditional American right to due process of law, freedom from official surveillance, arbitrary violence, and far more.
The current Attorney-General, Alberto Gonzales, has not backed away from his announcement to Congress that the Constitution does not guarantee habeas corpus. The administration continues to act on the assumption that it can arrest anyone at any time and hold them without notification or trial for as long as it wants.
The establishment of the Homeland Security Agency has given it additional hardware to decimate the basic human rights of our citizenry. Under the guise of dealing with the "immigration problem," large concentration camps are under construction around the US.
The administration has endorsed and is exercising its "right" to employ torture, contrary to the Eighth Amendment and to a wide range of international treaties, which Gonzales has labeled "quaint."
With more than 200 "signing statements" the administration acts on its belief that the "unitary executive" trumps the power of the legislative branch in any instance it chooses. This belief has been further enforced with the administration's use of a wide range of precedent-setting arguments to keep its functionaries from testifying before Congress.
There is much more. In all instances, the 109th Congress---and the public---have rolled over without significant resistance.
Most crucial now are Presidential Directive #51, Executive Orders #13303, #13315, #13350, #13364, #13422, #13438, and more, by which Bush has granted himself an immense arsenal of powers for which the term "dictatorial" is a modest understatement.
The Founders established our government with checks and balances. But executive orders have accumulated important precedent. The Emancipation Proclamation by which Lincoln declared an end to slavery in the South, was issued under the "military necessity" of adding blacks to the Union Army, a step without which the North might not have won the Civil War. Franklin Roosevelt's Executive Order #8802 established the Fair Employment Practices Commission. Harry Truman's Executive Order #9981 desegregated the military.
Most to the point, FDR's Executive Order #9066 ordered the forcible internment of 100,000 people of Japanese descent into the now infamous concentration camps of World War II.
There is also precedent for a president overriding the Supreme Court. In the 1830s Chief Justice John Marshall enshrined the right of the Cherokee Nation to sovereignty over its ancestral land in the Appalachian Mountains. But President Andrew Jackson scorned the decision. Some 14,000 native Americans were moved at gunpoint to Oklahoma. More than 3,000 died along the way.
All this will be relevant should Team Bush envision a defeat in the 2008 election and decide to call it off. It's well established that Richard Nixon---mentor to Karl Rove and Dick Cheney---commissioned the Huston Plan, which detailed how to cancel the 1972 election.
Today we must ask: who would stop this administration from taking dictatorial power in the instance of a "national emergency" such as a terror attack at a nuclear power plant or something similar?
Nothing in the behavior of this Congress indicates that it is capable of significant resistance. Impeachment seems beyond it. Nor does it seem Congress would actually remove Bush if it did put him on trial.
Short of that, Bush clearly does not view anything Congress might do as a meaningful impediment. After all, how many divisions does the Congress command?
The Supreme Court, as currently constituted, would almost certainly rubber stamp a Bush coup. If not, like Jackson, he could ignore it as easily as he would ignore Congress.
What does that leave? There is much idle speculation now about what the armed forces would do. We also hear loose talk about "90 million gun owners."
From the public side, the only conceivable counter-force might be a national strike or an effective long-term campaign of general non-cooperation.
But we can certainly assume the mainstream media will give lock-step support to whatever the regime says and does. It's also a given that those likely to lead the resistance will immediately land in those new prisons being built by Halliburton et. al.
So how do we cope with the harsh realities of such a Bush/Cheney/Rove dictatorial coup?
We may have about a year to prepare. Every possible scenario needs to be discussed in excruciating detail.
For only one thing is certain: denial will do nothing.

There is no decision, or choice in any matter that we may or may not make affects God's Grand pre-planned predetermined Goal. "After-all He is The Grand Architect and Designer of the Universe"
Our Heavenly Celestial God, and His illuminated one's know and call Him Father! He knows every little thing about all His creatures, like the number of each hair on our head and when one falls out! "Do we" We have no secrets that are hid from the Supreme Almighty Celestial Architect.
We are creatures coming from the soil and dependent on our senses to live. We are soilish flesh creatures. The Scriptures say that the fleshly (soulish) man is not receiving the things of the Spirit of God. "God breathed into the first created human out of the pre-created earth's soil the nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. We humans live by our senses. That is the only means we as all living moving creatures do to live and survive is by our perception. We say, "I see it or this tastes good." We have "senses" which are the "controlling factors" in our lives, but the senses can only bring to us all, being living moving soilish earthly creatures the things that can be seen, heard,, tasted, etc.
The spirit of humanity is the "breath" of life. The Hebrew word for breath is "spirit", or wind.
Man is not able to understand or perceive things that are of the spirit. That is why it is that the human as a creature has no perception of God I am speaking of the individual who has not become a believer, In (Romans 1: 18). we learn that they have that, which is known of God, for it is apparent among them.
For example, that which may be known of the watchmaker is the perception of what the watchmaker made and is in my hand "The Watch" I have never seen the watchmaker, but, I know he exists, because I have see, and feel the watch. I know he is a wise man, and know many things about him, which I gather from the things he has made.
God, has a means whereby man may have some knowledge of His existence. Man can know His imperceptible power and divinity. Man has no reason to say there is no God when he can see all things that God has made. Just like Nicodemus who said, No man can do these things unless God, is in and with him." (John.3: 2). What did Nicodemus see? Her saw something visible which spoke to him of the invisible. God has given us things that will give us a deeper perception than we can get through His creation. In order to do this man has to have something he did not get from Adam. It was not given to Adam or any human being apart from faith in Christ, the second Adam. We had the spirit of humanity, but, humanity is not able to perceive the truths of the spirit. All humanity has it in common and we are able to grasp material things of humanity because the race has the same spirit of humanity. In order that we may have a realization of God we need God's Spirit, and He tells us in 1. Corinthians 2: 12 that we have the Spirit, which is from God. He is speaking here of course people who are believers and who see the heralding the wisdom and power of the God of the cross, to the unbelievers the cross is stupidity. Yet God, delights to save those who are believing. "We have the spirit of God homing in us (Romans 8: 9). "Now the soulish (fleshly) man is not receiving the things of God, for they are stupidity to him, and he is not able to know them, seeing that they are Spiritually examined." (1.Corinthians. 2: 14). "We have God's Spirit, and now we are able to perceive the things of the Spirit.
PS. There was a little boy who was a helper in a store, one day his master asked him to watch the store while he (the master) ran across the street. A stranger came in and was purchasing two yards of material, and the stranger said to the boy, while your at it cut me a few extra yards, you master is out and he won't know the difference, and the young lad said, to the stranger, Sir, my Master is never out…"The Stranger stood back in Shock" He was unaware that the little boy had a master in Heaven WHO IS NEVER OUT. (Colossians. 4: 1). He knows everything that goes on in the Universe, the big things and the little things. We have one too.

We had the "New Pearl Harbor" that was needed to rally the American people around Bush when he wanted to invade Iraq. We were fooled then and now he plans to do it again. I just pray that the New New Pearl Harbor isn't a nuclear disaster! I wouldn't put it past him. He is a murderer and a liar and another mass murder is not beyond him. He would do anything to keep control of this country. He has already abandoned the law of the land and the Constitution. He has been setting himself up to cancel the elections for some time now. He has his "edict" in place that allows him to take over all three branches of government when he decides that there is a state of emergency. So, he attacks America again, declares an emergency, takes over government, uses what's left of the military at home and declares martial law. We can't have an election in those circumstances now can we? He has also made it illegal to protest anything that he does in the name of Homeland Security so there you are! Tyranny at its finest. As S.Lewis once said, "When fascism comes to America it will be carrying a cross and wrapped in an American flag." (or something very close to that!) He has set us up big time and now comes the fall. God help us.
Military members must take the Oath of Enlistment -
"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God." (Title 10, US Code)
There is no guidance on what a military member should do if the orders of the President conflict with supporting the Constitution.
If the 2008 election is 'delayed', you will likely have a rift in the US Military. (Similar to the Civil War period) As a military member, I would say that more than 75% will side with the President. The rest will support the Constitution and there will be a number of desertions.
I honestly hope that it won't come to that.
IF there is a 2008 election, it is obvious to me that Dennis Kucinich is the only logical choice for a candidate. Unfortunatly, I predict the victor will be Rudy Giuliani.

I'm glad to see that there are so many people that are thinking about this. My wife and I have been discussing this possiblity for quite some time now, and I thought that we might be alone in our observation of what is happening. It seems that this administration has probably passed the point of no return. They've consolidated power within the Justice Dept, they have a managable Supreme Court, ( as if that even matters ) and they stand in total defiance of congress. Right now, congress has the ability to pass a law requiring that Bush not invade or attack Iran without congress approval. I doubt seriously that Bush would accept any law that requires him to get congressionaly approval to go to war with Iran, even though the responsibility to declare war rests with congress. He ignores congress. If he ignored them on this, that would be grounds for impeachment, but who would actually ever remove him? The Justice Dept? Not likely. He is the Justice Dept. The pentagon, actually works for congress. They have the authority to declare war, and the purse strings that pay for everything associated with the military. I can't imagine the military turning their weapons on American citizens, ( at least I would hope not )but I can easily imagine the mercenary contractors that are paid to ply their trade in Iraq, being used against us.
I expect another terrorist attack in this country ( orchestrated by the administration ) to take place before the next election, and that will be the pre-text for suspending the constitution and launching another war against Iran. We already have a battle group sitting in the Persian Gulf. I believe it's 4 Carriers and ships that accompany them. They could launch an attack at any time.
I'm sure that Bush will tell us that all of our rights under the constitution will be returned once the "war on terror" is won, which of course will never end. Perpetual war, will justify a dictatorship. Bush hasn't done all of this to simply walk away from it, and possibly have it all undone by somebody else. I think that's why they don't care about poll numbers. The polls don't matter to them.
This is so weird this was an idea that I had like 2 years ago... I always thought I was a little bit crazy, and who else would believe this. So, I decided to do a google search (by the way try googlonymous.com) and found this article. It was always in the back of my mind, but never could such a thing happen, and here we are; it's becoming even more possible. I don't know what will happen, but with the secret meetings for the NAU why couldn't this happen? Is it really so unrealistic? "I do not recall" is the new catch phrase in Washington. They think they can get away with any horrible action by claiming that they have a bad memory? No. Its time to take a closer look and make an observation or two before we will allow the unthinkable to happen while fuhrer Bush says hello to his 3rd consecutive term as the new American dictator.
The election doesn't have to be cancelled for the administration to maintain its power and initiate martial law. It could simply wait and see what the results are, and based on the results make its decision... The winner of the election, if it is not the incumbent president, is simply titled president elect, and does not take office until the following year... that gives several months for a terrorist attack to take place and for martial law to be instituted, at which time the administration could use national security as a reason to stay in office, until the "problem" is cleared up...
This would work better for them, as many americans are afraid of switching leadership during wartime, which is another reason why they were able to maintain office in 2004. So if there is a big enough problem when it is time for the administration to step down and allow the president elect into office, many in the public would accept the fact that the president is staying in office to "finish the job".
To find the Concentration Camps. "Opps", "Dentention Centers", search Goggle for Ready Exercise 1984 "REX 84" then search for the "New World Order" to find out about the Executive Orders that our government plans to enact to take over our nation under Martial Law.
Slowly "Habeas Corpus" right to a "trial in court", cancelled by the "War Commissions Act of 2006"
Guns outlawed and confiscated by "Public Law 87-297" which first disarms all weapons from Law Abiding Citizens who will just hand them over to the National Guard when they knock on the door.
Not one American Citizen has the guts to fight back, they will go to court to get their guns back, and who runs the courts, the government of course. Unless citizens were organized into fighting groups, which of course our government will squash immediately as terrorist organizations, our nation will be taken over and all citizens will behave or else. You will pay all tax's demanded, because you won't fight back NOW.
You will submit, and let the traitor Government give this nation to the "NEW WORLD ORDER", under the UNITED NATIONS.
That's what all this build up China is all about, to get China involved in world trade, so the only choice for them is to go along with the One World Order.
