Nobel Laureate Calls for Removal of Bush
Nobel Peace Prize winner Betty Williams came from Ireland to Texas to declare that President Bush should be impeached.
In a keynote speech at the International Women's Peace Conference on Wednesday night, Ms. Williams told a crowd of about 1,000 that the Bush administration has been treacherous and wrong and acted unconstitutionally.
"Right now, I could kill George Bush," she said at the Adam's Mark Hotel and Conference Center in Dallas. "No, I don't mean that. How could you nonviolently kill somebody? I would love to be able to do that."
About half the crowd gave her a standing ovation after she called for Mr. Bush's removal from power.
"The Muslim world right now is suffering beyond belief," she said.
"Unless the president of the United States is held responsible for what he's doing and what he has done, there's no one in the Muslim world who will forgive him."
When an audience member told Ms. Williams that Vice President Dick Cheney would become president if George Bush were impeached, she said, "Can't you impeach them both?"
"It's twisted. It's all wrong," she said. "There are so many lies being told. It's hard to be an American and go out into the world right now."
Ms. Williams started her speech by asking every member of the audience to hug everyone around them. Then she cut to what amounted to both a call for peace and a stinging rebuke of the American government.
Conference organizers have said that the conference is nonpartisan and that no one was invited to speak about the war in Iraq. After Ms. Williams finished her speech, conference chairwoman Carol Donovan took the podium to say that Ms. Williams did not speak for the conference -- only herself.
"It's important for us to separate the opinion of the person and the position of the conference," Ms. Donovan said.
Two other Nobel Peace Prize winners, American activist Jody Williams and Rigoberta Menchú Tum of Guatemala, will speak this week as part of the conference. Jody Williams, who was in the audience Wednesday, has also indicated she would speak about Mr. Bush.
"We believe very strongly it was important to have the opportunity to hear these three peace prize winners," Ms. Donovan said.
Betty Williams won the Nobel Prize in 1976 for creating a group that helped start peace talks in Northern Ireland.
In 1992, Texas Gov. Ann Richards appointed Betty Williams to the Texas Commission for Children and Youth.
Many in the crowd found out that Lady Bird Johnson had died when Jan Sanders, the wife of U.S. District Judge Barefoot Sanders and a close friend of the former first lady, gave an impromptu eulogy.
"She was a friend, a doer, an influencer of world events," Ms. Sanders said. "She lived a full life. If she were here, she would say to you, 'Keep on being women doers.' "

'I suppose the "rest of the world" could form a coalition of the willing and invade the U.S. to arrest Bush, Cheney et al but get real, not smart and not likely.'
No not smart. That just makes guns the first option and puts him and them in a class with Bush. But they can constantly hold him up to the constitutional standards he swore to protect and the moral standards he himself so often proclaims.
They can all pack up and leave Iraq right now. They can actively pursue negotiations to talk down Ahmadinejad in Iran. They can shame us before the world for our selfish and stingy foreign aid, and constantly point out in the local and international press how little we are doing to pursue the peace we say we want in comparison to the rest of the world we try to count as allies.
Then they can call on us to join in in their projects of international aid and pacification and progress in human rights, human health, human growth. It will work, finally if they have enough patience.
"This war has the distinction of being the first time in history a war was protested, BY US CITIZENS, before it was even started. But you won't hear about that from the MSM. As long as your accusing people of "feeble reactions," what are/have you done about it. Where do you get off expecting others to rescue US from the consequences of our choices and/or inactions."
The "war" ended a few years ago. That's straight from the mouth of Mr. Bush. It's an occupation.
What am *I* doing? Hell, ask my representatives...they all know me, as I won't stop pestering them. I'm actively taking a role in unseating those who won't listen. And you?
Yes, absolutely: A demonstration in Europe in response to the deaths of so many people can now be classified as feeble. I hate to use the Nazi word, but when they did it to the Jews, it took a lot more than a demonstration to demand justice.
- We got to impeach CCheney.
- How're you going to impeach Cheney?
- Like they got Spiro Agnew. You charge him with something. Something illegal.
- Like what?
- I don't know. Anything. Just so it's illegal.
- What's he done that's illegal?
- A very large number of things. That doesn't matter. You charge him with something - you know, something spectacular. Heavy emotional. Make a big stink. Everybody'd believe it.
-So that's a valid basis for impeachment?
-Sure. It's the Republican way. Pure Karl Rove. I still don't know why in 2000 2004 somebody didn't plant a rumor about the twins both had abortions. It would have changed history.
- All right. So you impeach Cheney. Then what?
- I would love to have that problem.
- So you would just float around enjoying it.
- Sure. Just having him gone. Being rid of him. You could float around for a while just on that.
- You're already floating around.
- Yeah. It's great.
- Yeah. Okay. But at some point you got to do something.
- See, you always get Democrats with sex. Sometimes you get a Republican with sex but mostly with them it's money. You try to get Cheney with sex it's got no ring of truth to it.
- You can say that again.
- So what do you do? How about this?-You reveal that in the course of his career in public service he's socked away two billion dollars in a secret Swiss bank account.
- That would have the ring of truth?
- You bet. You got to have something with the ring of truth - like the twins had abortions.
- Did they have abortions?
- How would I know? But you get Cheney with secrecy you got to go in deep.
- Wouldn't the Swiss say it's nonsense?
- I don't know. Maybe. It wouldn't matter. You just keep saying it. You know, like Saddam had WMDs. The Swiss have these secret bank accounts, see, they can't say anything about them. Their lawyers would probably tell them they could neither confirm or deny.
- Okay, okay. You impeach Cheney. You float around. Then what do you do?
- Well, after a while you appoint a new vice president. Like Gerald Ford. Then you impeach Bush.
- Impeach Bush?
- Sure. Why not? You got to cut down on the pardons. Plus which, you impeach Gonzalez.
- Why?
- Appointing a successor to Gonzalez there's confirmation hearings. Confirmation hearings you can investigate all over the place. That feeds the 2008 campaign.
- You think you can stop floating around long enough to do any of that?
- Got to.
COMarc, it would be nice if you would have stated, for the record and as a reminder, that the Republican party has had a stranglehold on Congress for over a decade.
For years, they had a monopoly on the executive, legislative, and judicial branch, as well as the unofficial fourth branch, the mainstream media.
The impression you leave is that Republicans and Democrats are somehow equally guilty. This is more spin.
The American people largely get it. At least the big concepts. There's lots most Americans don't know. For instance, I doubt most Americans have any idea of how many Iraqis have died. A random poll on the street would yield some interesting results I think. But my guess is that most Americans would say a few thousand, or maybe acknowledge a few tens of thousands. This isn't new. Most Americans also have no idea of how many Clinton killed with the sanctions.
But given the bad information most Americans have, they still get it. The numbers that say it was wrong for us to attack Iraq is up in the 60% to 705 range. Bush's approvel numbers are threatening to fall out of the 20'2 into the teens. And the approval numbers for Congress are just as low because of Congress failure to do anything to change the course of this country. When asked the generic question of whether America is on the right course or the wrong course, some 80% of Americans say the wrong course.
The American people are not the problem. The failure is in the American political system. In most elections, there is no candidate on the ballot that represents the views of a majority of Americans. The American political system is a restricted system of only two parties. And the effects are basically the same as with the one party system we saw in the Soviet Union.
The Democratic party leadership keeps a stranglehold on candidate selection. In my state, there are rarely primaries. Instead the Democratic party bosses get together and decide on who will oppose the Republicans. If there is a primary, its a very unfair fight in a rigged game between the choice of the Democratic Party bosses and someone trying to challenge that. Very rarely does the challenge succeed.
So frequently, the American voter is faced with a Republican candidate with all of their known awfulness, and a Democratic candidate that is little better. Rewind to the last election. There were very few Democratic candidates that truly opposed the war. Most tried to make some political gains by criticizing the conduct of the war, but very few said it was wrong. Very rare was the Democratic candidate that favored withdrawal. That simply was not an option on the ballot for most American voters.
The American system is designed by the two major parties to perpetuate them and deny any other candidates a chance to win. I've seen quotes from the Carter Center that American elections fail to meet the standard criteria they use to decide whether an election is free and fair and worthy of their monitoring efforts.
One of the key places it fails is that only the Democratic and Republican candidates get to speak to the voters. Candidates speak to voters primarily through the media, and the media only allows these two parties a voice. A third party candidate like a Green or a Libertarian will find themselves blocked from the media. They'll get little to zero free 'news' coverage, and if they start to be a factor in the race they'll be blasted by a lot of negative news coverage. Typically the media just constantly tells everyone these candidates "can't win".
To put paid ads in the media takes a lot of money. More than a $20 contribution can lead to. So only the candidates backed by millions and millions of campaign dollars can talk to the people.
So, while large numbers of Americans oppose the war, and while large numbers of Americans favor the impeachment of Bush and Cheney, the political system does not respond to that. You can see that in a President with historically low approval numbers pushing a very unpopular policy in Iraq, but the political system is unable to muster any opposition to this.
In a truly democratic system where the government reflected the will of the voters, Bush Iraq policy would be a joke that would be 'dead-on-arrival' in Congress, and as a President with 20-something approvals, he'd basically be irrelevant. That fact that this isn't true just shows how little say the American people have today in the policies of their government.
is it just me or when chimpeachable speaks of "our" enemies, it sounds as though he's speaking of his administration.
one example:
"they are willing to kill innocent women and children in pursuit of their political ambitions"
http://pol.moveon.org/subpoena/
Cheney 2003: we will be greeted with flowers.
Bush 2007: Early withdrawal will be a disaster.
Both these pronouncements in their totality constitute sufficient cause for impeachment based on psycho- and sociopathic diagnosis individuals involved.
Both display the main reason for removing from office, namely, utmost lack of judgment. The latter reason was sufficient for removal Kings in the dark of Middle Ages, not to say about our "enlightened" Republic. Pardon my sense of black humor.
Neo-cons seized control of the United States government through rigged elections, lies, deceit, and smear campaigns.
Pray tell: Why doesn't the rest of the world, with its great armies, help us citizens out and declare these neo-cons a danger to the world...and put them on trial?
What in the world is stopping nations such as Ireland from doing more than coming here and simply lecturing us?
It never ceases to amaze me how cheap talk consistently gets standing ovations.
If, as the adminstration itself tells us, al Qaida is at least as powerful a force as it was before the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, then Bush, as commander-in-chief should be held accountable for this gross failure and be removed as incompetent, and his advisors fired along with him.
During his news conference today, Bush said that his libbey commutation was " FAIR AND BALANCED". Its amazing what a DUMMEY can learn by watching FOX NEWS.
In response to other posters here:
I believe the estimates for a regime change in Iraq were a couple of months. I think the source of that was Wolfowitz or Kristol, two of the biggest neo cons on earth. Wouldn't it be nice to hold a public meeting so they can eat their words?
I am concerned that she used the "K" word, and can therefore get picked on by our secret service, especially as she is visiting from Ireland and herefore vulnerable to having a VISA revoked.
Libbey's commuted sentence wasn't fair or balanced, and it wasn't even about Libbey. It was all about making future stonewalling easier.
And you can point to the rest of the world and say, "why don't they do something?", but I know many would point back and ask "why did you elect him twice?" and "why don't YOU do something?"
It's called Treason. "Aiding and/or abetting the enemy". I would call creating more terrorists aiding the enemy, which is Treason, which is an Impeachable offense under the Constitution that must be undertaken.
Both Bush and Cheney(and i could throw out a half dozen other names)should not only be impeached but also jailed. Keep up the good work. I just pray that Bush and Co. doesn't come after you for speaking your mind. if you don't say and think as the Republican cult party and their president- Mr. Bush, then they consider you a traitor and unpatriotic. It's a shame but the constitution and Bill of Rights doesn't mean anything to Bush and his thugs. But everyone knows that Bush can't read. He likes the pictures though.
"...but I know many would point back and asked "why did you elect him twice?" and "why don't YOU do something?"
I don't understand why people such as yourself keep perpetuating the myth that we "elected" him twice.
Robert Kennedy and many others have made it abundantly clear that our nation was stolen. Why don't you get it?
There is now documented evidence that the 2006 elections were stolen, too, by the same people. Democrats have the slimmest of margins ON PURPOSE. You will note that even though they "won" in 2006, they are pretty much still impotent to swiftly stop the neo-cons and effect change. The Democrats should have won many other races...but didn't. It's smoke and mirrors, and the current gridlock in Congress is ANOTHER victory for the neo-cons.
The neo-cons have caused the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people in the Middle East. This is not a "US" crisis anymore. It's a global crime against humanity, and the rest of the world isn't reacting.
Shattering illusions for the good of the world is beautiful. More power to Betty williams!
It's about time that those with the power to move towards impeachment, got the message. Bush/Cheney must be driven out of power.
With each passing day that they put it off, they get more and more blood on their hands.
"and the rest of the world isn't reacting"
The rest of the world is scared, the current administration are willing to use nukes, one of your naval fleets is capable of sending any country back to the stone age. America is still the strongest military force on the planet.
Had Enough wants the rest of the world to react. The rest of the world did react very strongly with anti-war demonstrations before and after the war. There was little mention of it in the U.S. MSM and what there was grossly underestimated the numbers demonstrating. So basically America doesnt see beyond it's borders. I suppose the "rest of the world" could form a coalition of the willing and invade the U.S. to arrest Bush, Cheney et al but get real, not smart and not likely.
Regarding this article, who can get serious about someone that starts a speaking engagement asking people to hug each-other? Reminds me of a tent revival.
but I know many would point back and ask "why did you elect him twice?" and "why don't YOU do something?"
USAns aren't capable of doing anything. They are victims of an stupendously effective propaganda system - supported by an insidiious form of social and economic engineering. They are effectively suffering from a sort of Stockholm syndrome-turned-on-it's-head.
It will be up to the rest of the world to force the US to change it's behavior - I recommend you use the same effective tactics that forced change in South Africa!
"So basically America doesnt see beyond its borders."
That is empty rhetoric. You are absolutely wrong.
And an anti-war demonstration is just a feeble reaction to the deaths of UP TO one million people. You can't get more feeble than that, so don't pat yourself on the back and pretend you did your job.
I do, however, agree with you about the group hug. Good God. Like I said above, standing ovations for words words words...leave home without them.
I saw that scumbag's press conference a few hours ago. He is to stupid to lie convincingly but that doesen't stop him from trying. Nobody can say he is not tenacious.
"USAns aren't capable of doing anything. They are victims of a stupendously effective propaganda system - supported by an insidious form of social and economic engineering. They are effectively suffering from a sort of Stockholm syndrome-turned-on-it's-head."
You truly have the psychology down correctly.
Americans had no idea (and most of us still don't) that our media was gobbled up by about 8 super-rich corporations that are beholden to the neo-cons. It's frightening.
If (over on YouTube) you saw Michael Moore's smackdown of Wolfe Blitzer on CNN the other day, Moore was 100% correct in what he said about the mainstream media here. I can assure you that some American viewers STILL don't get it, as CNN, under different ownership, was indeed one of the "most trusted" news networks around. No longer. (I understand the international CNN is a different animal, however: We in the USA are prohibited from access to it).
Fortunately, there is a growing awareness by the public that it has been subjected to lies and deceit for years now. The numbers are growing daily.
This is why I asked, in another thread, for the rest of the world to help us. Don't just criticize us: HELP US to defeat the regime that stole our government.
Had Enough: ...documented evidence that the 2006 elections were stolen...
The "Rule of Law" is as much a common resource and subject to the same tragic manipulation as any other resource of the Commons.
As for impeachment, it will require two thirds of the Senate. How likely is that? And the trial will be appointed by a Bush appointee. Is't that kind of justice expecting a lot?
"Carol Donovan took the podium to say that Ms. Williams did not speak for the conference — only herself."
Either a miserable COWARD!!! OR
An asskisser!!! OR
BOTH.
Yes, Americans are the sons and daughters of propaganda like all modern democracies. But a major freedom that all democracies have is the freedom of choice.
If everybody turned off their television(s), stopped buying "stuff" they don't need, and started reading books about history, things would regain some sense of rational balance.
Let's look at the numbers...
The US population is just over 301 million people.
In the 2000 election, 50,460,110 people voted for Bush; and 51,003,926 voted for Gore. But as we all know, Bush won the larger states (like Texas) and got more electoral college votes and "won" the election.
In the 2004 election, 62,040,610 people voted for Bush; and 59,028,444 voted for Kerry. Bush won again with a 51% to 48% victory over Kerry. More people voted than in 2000, but the majority of eligible voters (once again) failed to vote at all.
Out of 301 million people, less than one-third of the registered voters actually cast a ballot. This is true for most democracies--the majority DO NOT VOTE.
Based on the 2004 numbers, Bush was elected President based on votes cast by less than 20 per cent of the American population.
The bottom line: Nobody gives a rat's ass about any of it. We all know the system is corrupt (particularly so under these neocon, Bible-thumping fascists) but as long as we can maintain our lifestyles, we can bitch and moan without anything ever changing.
If only one-third of the American people voted against Bush, 100 million people would have their voices heard and be victorious.
2008 can't come soon enough ...
Impeach AND PROSECUTE!!!
"Why are Americans so tone-deaf on this issue and so surprised and "outraged" when these things actually occur in "war?"
I'm assuming you are in America. If so, kindly refer to Americans as "us" not "you". If you are watching the blowhards on CNN, Fox, and MSNBC, you are an American, correct? If you're a Canadian, why on earth would you watch the crap on US networks?
If I'm misreading the cues in your thread, correct me and accept my apology. If I'm not, stop distancing yourself by playing this "you" game.
As somebody above said, the psychology of what has happened in the USA is overwhelmingly criminal, and the mainstream media is the major blame. Do you remember "embedded reporters" when Iraq was invaded? Very few Americans appreciated how sinister it was to embed the media like this: the media had been sold out, and we didn't even realize it!
I get so sick of this "then we'll have President Cheney" argument against impeachment. President Cheney will know his predecessor was involuntarily removed. That might be a good warning. Same with whoever wins next year, and in 2012, and 2016... It isn't about Bush, or Cheney. It's about what their successors can get away with before facing impeachment. If these crooks don't face a serious attempt, their successors will have to be even worse to face impeachment.
Had Enough: You are preaching to the choir here. I was speaking about common foreigner responses to the question mentioned above. That would be a common reaction - You elected him twice and you do something about him. And yes, they do anti Bush protests wherever he goes and with more tenacity and intensity than we generally have.
Yes, I assume the Republicans were scr*wing with the electronic voting. And the potential for tampering with electronic voting will be there in the future. Having a print out record of your vote would help. However, Dr Spock has a good point, only 20 percent turn out for the vote. And there are several ways to read the low turn out. Maybe Americans are tired of voting for the lesser of two weevils. And aren't we headed for that same situation with Clinton vs Guilliani or Romney?
CrackerJack69:
i believe i remember a couple of months when ike was pres that america was not at war..
the vast majority of the 301 million americans would be blown away if they could experience a few months living in any country in europe..my god you people actually have cars and roads and things in the store windows that an american could not come close to buying..
isolation (2 big ponds) works both ways..americans have not a clue where we stand in the pecking order..

Funny ... as a left-wing Canadian (if I must use a label), it's interesting that you took the hard numbers and white-washed me with a "right-wing spin" when I am nothing of the sort.
You missed the point--the numbers are so bloody close EVEN WITH the tossed ballots, rigged voting machines, and arbitrarily disenfranchised that all it would take is a small number of Americans to simply VOTE to affect massive political change.
At this point, it's surprising that the American people let Bush et al. operate for this long. The media has played its part, but the real perpetrators are the big-money propagandists running the "show" for the ignorant, apathetic public.
I believe the United States is a great country built on the same solid foundation as all great Western democracies.
It's time for impeachment of the Republican machine. It's an understatement to say that they're all guilty of way more than getting a blow job.
"Had Enough", so sharp, so snotty...
I love you.
CrackerJack69,
I like your summary and agree with what you said. Yes, many of the voters are to blame, and discover that they should not have voted for Shrub & Co. If you look at the message boards on the MSM, the stuff many people write is nauseating. The ignorance is profound and intelligence sorely lacking. What else do we need in addition to nobel laureates calling for impeachment?? Sure, it likely will not happen with the morons in the Congress headed by chief moron Nancy Pelosi who declared "impeachment is off the table." Like others who regularly contribute to these message boards, I try to hold some candle of optimism, but it daily becomes a greater challenge.
CrackerJack69,
So what is your point? Just kidding.
Since our Congress can't find what it takes to start an investigation and uphold they're sworn Constituional duty, You would think that another Nation that was duped, would bring war crimes against our sitting government, and let an International Tribunal at the Hague investigate. Just think, that would effectively ground the whole administration, they couldn't leave our country and travel abroad fro fear of being arrested.
"Funny … as a left-wing Canadian (if I must use a label), it's interesting that you took the hard numbers and white-washed me with a "right-wing spin" when I am nothing of the sort."
Yes, right-wing spin, that's what it is. You are using right-wing spin. You fell for the numbers. They are lies, all of them. If you're a left-wing Canadian, kindly respect the fact that the numbers are, in CNN's word, "fudged". The numbers are bogus, fake, baseless, utter crap.
I greatly respect Canada, and I think Canadians are basically smarter than Americans...probably better educated, in better health, and much more savvy about world affairs than are Americans. Ditto with many Europeans.
But don't use right-wing numbers to tell me that Bush "won" anything. He didn't. Enough voters in this country turned out to elect Gore and Kerry, but the neo-cons flipped the numbers in some states, padded the numbers in others, and deleted the numbers in still others. We did not need more than a 20% turnout; it's moot.
""Had Enough", so sharp, so snotty… I love you."
Oh God, I truly cringed to read that. I am not a snotty person in real life, I am just so fricken angry about everything that has happened here. I have "had enough", and it's my mission to help change things. I care about people in all cultures, and if I come across as snotty, hopefully I can slowly polish my act as the anger subsides.
I will not, however, let the rest of the world off the hook. Demonstrations and armchair criticism go only so far.
So many Americans see the life-blood of Iraq draining, and we know that atrocities are happening. The rest of the world can put George Bush and Richard Cheney on trial for crimes against humanity. There is no nuclear threat to be afraid of for doing this.
ericf July 12th, 2007 3:28 pm
Amen
It is of paramount importance that these criminals in and supporting this administration should not be allowed to get away with their crimes.
Keep writing, faxing, emailing, phoning your representatives and senators. And we need large numbers of people to vote against the encumbents that have enabled this administration's thuggery.
Had Enough says:
What in the world is stopping nations such as Ireland from doing more than coming here and simply lecturing us?
Ireland didn't lecture us; Betty White did, she is an US citizen living and working in Ireland.
Then Had Enough said:
And an anti-war demonstration is just a feeble reaction to the deaths of UP TO one million people. You can't get more feeble than that, so don't pat yourself on the back and pretend you did your job.
This war has the distinction of being the first time in history a war was protested, BY US CITIZENS, before it was even started. But you won't hear about that from the MSM. As long as your accusing people of "feeble reactions," what are/have you done about it. Where do you get off expecting others to rescue US from the consequences of our choices and/or inactions.
Support HR 333, Impeach Cheney.
I wish I had the guts to do more. I've never voted for a Republican in my life, but I still believe that we are all guilty. What should we have done to have stopped this?
I dont know. But, we should have done it.
Please someone read IT CANT HAPPEN HERE by Sinclair Lewis (1935). The whole Bush plan is in that book!
Impeach anybody in Bu$h the inferior's regime. Their strength is weakened. Shotgun Dick is basically the president now. He is like a vampire and works only in the shadows. The president can't be in an undisclosed location for long. Presidential secret meanings are much more difficult.
Note that HR 333 is sitting in Conyers' committee. That's Kucinich's resolution to impeach Cheney. It lists three legitimate charges. I think that there are now 16 co-signers. But it's going nowhere without a groundswell of action by citizens who don't even know it exists. Today's big problem is HR 811 that is considered a great hope to save and secure our votes. It will be voted on shortly. It is terribly flawed but desperately needed in an UNFLAWED condition. I don't want them to vote for it because, instead of securing our votes, it will unsecure the HAVA Act, that nightmare that threw our votes to the Diebold and ES&S hackers in the first place. This a nightmare on top of a nightmare. Why won't the Democratic leadership face the facts and repair the damage? Is EVERYBODY that stupid?
By looking at most of the presentations here one would think that all the troubles began just since the election of Bush and that he is only suported by 30% of population and , in my opinion, both are very wrong.
How many Brits are telling us to keep out of Iraq but do not tell BP to do the same?
As far as hiding behind false premises not one country in Europe is not, I repeat not, making money off of the US interventison in Iraq.
In Ireland many of the puter chips they are so happy to be making are the ones found in our aircraft cruise missle guidance systems, our tanks and artillary ranging and firing divices, contols that allow a man in Florida to unleash hellfire by an armed drone in Afghanistan, Iraq and Horn of africa.
It is their employers who are the one who work hand in glove with US, Brit and Euros on programming facial recogniton techology, data base files of finger print and now the biometr4ic cards soon everyone will have to have, ability to intercept telephone and ability to track everyone in worlds finaces.
Most of our small arms ammo is European or Israeli, the weapons and ammuniton given to the Iraqui military and police come from CZECH, Romaina, Poland, the refiend fuel comes from Italy, Greece, ME countrys such as Kuwait and Saudis.
All the european oil firms have upped production so as to not allow US stocks to become depleted, and so have the Argentine, Canadian and even Venezuekla agreed to up production.
In truth the Europeans and Asians are the only ones who can deter the US from attacking many more countrys covertly and when that fails overtly.
The war in the united states if talked about is mostly a mental war, masturbation of the minds, for there is no crisis per se except in the minds of those who like war and over 2/3rds of Americans like wars or don't give a damn either way and are quite happy that the 1/3rd who are profiting have not gotten to the point it hurts their standard of living or TV programming.
World should realize by now the two party system in US is one and the same and both want to remake the world and that projects such as takeover odf a whole country gives the social democrats a chance to built thjeiri utopias as well as the more Greedy and militaristic Industrialist to profit.
Our NGO's work hand in glove with the military industrialist agendas, recive money from Endowment Funds and think tanks run by those who plan the wars.
There is no US of A anymore, we ahve a new government with powers out of reach of the citizens, the next president will inherit all the powers of Bush, the HOmeland Security and Spy progrms still go on, our military will still ki8ll one group t makle the other group want to kill someone else and the American p[eople will still go shopping.
Everyone forgets that the Democrats are the main reason that today we are in Central Asia and Midle East and it is called the Carter Doctrine.
Europe will soon see its leaders pulling back from their welfare programs as is already happening in France and Germany.
the beginnings of this conflict began a long time ago and it is not just the inability of US to know what its governemtn is doing behind closed doors also.
Does anyone know how the International Criminal Court chooses who it will prosecute?
Do they take "nominations" from citizens who want to see justice done for Iraq and all the Middle East as well as the US?
Does the Security Council of the UN get to veto the prosecution of anyone they don't want brought to justice?
We all see what's wrong, and even after all the rhetoric about the Constitution, and this "government of the people" stuff, we still don't know what to do. Even the Democrats who are in power don't know what to do to take control of the situation! All talk -- can't produce.
I just sent this to Thom Hartman of Air America Radio

Dear Thom:
I am one of your regular listeners (on AM1090, Seattle).
For a long time, I felt that Bush and Cheney deserve impeachment, but was reluctant to get on the impeachment bandwagon. However, a critical mass of impeachable offenses has come together and I am 100% in favor of a serious effort to remove them from office.
This may seem like a silly idea, at first reading, but as Ethel Merman said in Gypsy, "ya gotta have a gimmick."
I would like to propose that someone (such as YOU), call for citizens to host National Ice Cream Socials over the Labor Day Weekend. They would serve MmmmmPeachMint ice cream. (Preferably made with Texas peaches and mint chocolate chunks.) A rallying slogan could be, "Enjoy MmmmmmPeachMint -- it's good for your Constitution."
Using the Ice Cream Social as the venue for this effort would be reminiscent of early America where the ice cream social was often a gathering spot to discuss social, charitable, political activities. I have tried to get some local ice creameries to feature MmmmmPeachMint as a "short term" flavor, but so far none of them have put it on their menu.
It is time to launch a surge for impeachment. This could be the start of the first massive grassroots' effort to inform Americans on the importance of impeachment. Town, city, county, state politicians would be invited to attend. If these National Ice Cream Socials were held throughout the land, brought to the attention of local and national media, and fueled with the sweet taste of MmmmmmmPeachMint, this could be the start of something big!
Thanks,
Micki etc.

IMPEACH THE "TEPPICHFRESSER" WHAT'S THAT YOU SAY? DON'T YOU REMEMBER WHAT ADOLF HITLER DID WHEN HE THREW A FIT WHEN THINGS WENT WRONG? I BET THEY'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE CARPET IN THE OVAL OFFICE MANY TIMES WITH "TEPPICHFRESSER" BUSH IN THERE.
I wish she would speak at Yankee Stadium, the Astrodome, anyplace where 100,000 plus could be seated, and then on every TV and radio talk show in America, alone, with no commercials. I'd love to see that.
INDICT THEN IMPEACH! DRAG THEM OUT IN HANDCUFFS!
Pelosi is so stupid. Doesn't she realize that she would be the next president? A woman and a Democrat. Duh?
Maybe her eye job stops her from seeing clearly. LOL.
A Poll of Americans should be taken on who favors impeachment. INDICTMENTS FIRST!- Handcuffs are a great Photo op! Charge all these SOBs including Rumsfeld, and Chertoff with CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE!
doesn't anyone get it! IMPEACHMENT will not happen no matter how many people get on the bandwagon. We have to deal with the gang of two on our own. I resent bullshit from Ireland. She says she could kill Bush......FINE do it!! for Godsake but stop bugging us with your idiot blabbering. This has gone on long enough. Is this what this forum is for?.......to get shit off your chest? Fine but warn us first. This makes me want to cancel my subscription. OK, OK I simply won't read the comments anymore. Sorry for the outburst everyone!
I do not want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, or make any implications, but has anyone else noticed how much people in the Bush Administration like to use the word "sober?" I.e. the 23 page report is a "sober" assessment. It seems to be used rather frequently. Just an observation.
Jess reminds us about Hitler a sociopathic, megalomaniac who took control of Germany and eventually Europe, because the people of Germany were living with FEAR. The initial fear was created by the staged fire/destruction of the Reichstag, and was escalated from there by non-stop propaganda and invasions. In 1941, FDR "allowed" the Pearl Harbor attack in order to create enough FEAR in our citizens to get them to want to join the war in Europe. This generation of Americans have been living with FEAR since 9/11/2001 created by the staged destruction of the WTC buildings, the damage to the Pentagon and the deaths of thousands. Some of us have known since that day (those of us who read the neo-con's Project for the New American Century "strategic defense" document) that our own government, I think in collusion with an international, globalist cabal, was responsible for that "New Pearl Harbor." Essentially, we do have a problem like Hitler on our hands. George Bush/Dick Cheney are sociopathic, megalomaniacs - greedy, conscience-less, arrogant, murdering bastards who will do whatever it takes to bring their New World Order into fruition. They serve only their corporate and elitist friends and controllers, both in America and around the world, not the people of America. So, some who have previously commented here are partially correct - we've not done much as a people to rein in our "leaders." But, it's mainly because most Americans have no clue - the fear in which they have lived - the Big Lie - has fogged their minds; mass media assists with the continuation of the propaganda 24/hours a day; and the "opposition" party is as corrupt as B/C administration. Our economy is teetering, our infrastructure has been allowed to decay or been sold to foreign "investors," our education and healthcare systems are all but defunct, our electoral system has been hijacked, our basic freedoms, civil rights and privacy have been usurped, and our borders have been opened to enable the hordes and terrorists, etc. to walk in and take what is left. I recall that B. Franklin said, upon being asked what type of government the Continental Congress devised, and he answered, "A Republic, if you can keep it." I am begining to have my doubts. Is there not a LEADER of integrity among us who has the courage to stand and say, "Enough!"? Or, are we, like lemmings, following our own little Hitler to whatever end may await?
