I don't have children yet, but if/when I do (and I always have second thoughts about this considering the state of the world) I'm never ever getting them vaccinated. Doctors are fallible and corruptible, just like politicians are.. guess maybe we ALL are to an extent. But doctors have 'authority' and they love to tell us how to be healthy, but doctors don't like to be questioned, especially by their patients (or the parents of their patients).

If your interested in the history of vaccination start with Louis Pasteur, and take it from there. Vaccines in general are a good thing and some, such as the papilloma vaccine, even prevent cancer. That being said, do what the poster above suggests, eat well, exercise regularly, but take advantage of modern medicine as well (if you can afford it, ha ha).

The best thing to put into your kids' bodies is GOOD FOOD. Keep them clean, happy and make sure they get plenty of exercise. Disease should be confronted by a healthy immune system, not an artificial one.

And I don't believe that women are victims of the medical patriarchy as much as they are the first line of defense for their children. They only want the best for their kids and, by extension, themselves, so they can live to take care of their kids. So they believe in Western Medicine... Suckers.

Chessgame: I got my children vaccinated. My son had such a severe reaction to the whooping cough (3 N 1) that he had seizures, and I had to take him to the hospital with a really high fever. My daughter, at a year of age had a severe reaction and stopped talking for months. At age eight, when she had a mumps booster (or was it measles), after receiving the shot, she was standing by the check-out window in the doctor's office and went into a dead faint, collapsing on the floor. I always believed in vaccinations, and my children received all of theirs in spite of these bad reactions--because I did not want them to get a worse disease. I am conflicted on the vaccine issue now, but everyone has to make up his own mind--the law should not dictate.

As for me, I've always voted Dem except when I voted for Ralph Nader--and I once voted libertarian for governor because I found the two main candidates so disgusting. I may be more of a libertarian bent as freedoms go, but I always thought libertarians were wacko because they did not even like the idea of libraries receiving tax dollars. I am about ready to give up my libraries and vote libertarian. As for being affluent, if you saw my bank statement you would lol. If I were affluent, I wouldn't have a problem navigating the nannies laws, would I? I could just hire a lawyer and beat back the state that attempted to coerce me at ever turn.

As for the cops who protect me, I saw a quote once of which I heartily agree: "there is no situation so dismal that a cop can't make it worse." I have never been mugged (I live in the sticks) but I have been harrassed on many occasions by cops in small towns who write tickets because their citizens do not pay enough in taxes or they have to make a show--everyone has to justify his existence, I suppose. I am turning more libertarian as I don't like being stopped by cops every time I venture out on the road because I drive an old car--believe me it has happened more times than you can image. Nanny laws give the cop an excuse to pull you over: "it didn't appear you were wearing a seat belt," etc. If you fight an unjust ticket, it is a long and drawn out exercise and ends up costing more than paying the ticket. And as many young black (and poor white) men will tell you, if you met a cop, if you make eye contact they see you as a threat and will have to assert their authority. You will defer to "the man" or you are "not showing proper respect." I sat on a jury not too long ago where a young black man was shot many times by cops. Even though the shooting was clearly illegal and a stalking (the black man had dissed them earlier in the day), a little old lady on the jury said, "I can'vote against the cops, they protect us from people like that." I'm sick of "the cops who protect me." A cop should be able to take a verbal dissing as part of the territory, rather than retaliating with gunfire many hours later. It has been my experience that people such as the little old lady and others who tell me that cops protect are of middle-class values and have no real idea what the rest of the world goes through in dealing with the prison industrial complex, of which cops are the first rung in that ladder. Most cops are worse than thugs. Oh, I know, there are "a few good ones." It's just that they are few and far between, and I never seem to run into them. $12.50 an hour and a marine crew cut plus a badge does not make for good law enforcement. Half of the time, they don't even know what the Bill of Rights is. When I mentioned to one that he was breaking the law in a particular action, he pointed at his badge and said, "I am the law." The ticket he wrote was later dropped in court but it ended up costing more than the ticket to appeal the case from the little municipal judge who knew less of the law than the traffic cop.

I believe there are things that government can do. For example, I love the post office. Where clse can one send a birthday card to grandma for 42 cents? Try that with FedEx. I am well aware that there is a "promote the general welfare" clause in the Constitution, and I believe that men like Jefferson and Madison really meant that--building infrastructure (such as hospitals, research facilities, etc), but when these organization are all in bed with the big corporations, somehow it is no longer the "general welfare" that reaps the benefits of our treasury, but private concerns. All of this bruhaha about fightings AIDS in Africa, for example, is just another way to transfer large sums to the private sector--they all push for governments to buy these meds. To say that everyone in Africa is dying from AIDS is an insult to the African people. I do not believe that Africans are more promiscuous sexually than North Americans. In fact, they are probably less so. Epidemiologically speaking, as in the U.S., these people are probably suffering from the ravages of poverty. Clean water, sewer systems, and good nutrition would go a long way toward solving the health crises in AFrica. But where is the profit for drug companies in that? The greatest preventive of infectious disease is the simple act of washing one's hands. Next, is a good immune system, which means good nutrition, and clean surroundings. And abuse of iv drugs will destroy an immune system faster than just about anything. Most of the people in third world countries are denied the basics necessities of life. Most doctors will tell you that it was these things introduced in the U.S. that improved health. In fact, hospitals cause a tremendous number of deaths every year, and people get infections in those hospitals that are virtually impossible to be rid of. This is why I say, make health care available to those who want it and need it, but don't mandate. And if you're going to say that by drinking colas I'm costing you money in the long run, keep your health care system, I don't want it. I want the right to make my own choices, even if others "know what is best for me."

But I blab my frustrations with too many words, again.

One more point: Many PRESUME vaccine took out polio, but Mendelsohn raised the point that soft drinks were just then introduced. Imagine our genetic structures never having had quite that shot of adrenalin-sugar and didn't coke originally have TRACES of cocaine in it? Lots of bodies succumbed. Sometimes I think changes in lifestyle, cleaning up the sewage, treating water, etc (bubonic plague came from fleas!) is what causes a disease or outbreak of some "bug" to just disappear.

Dr. Robert Mendelsohn wrote an excellent book, "Confessions of a Medical Heretic" more than 20 years ago where he explained the focus on vacinations, and other practices he labeled sacrosanct to the MDEity. His second book examines how women are particular targets of the medical field because they tend to be deferential to men/authority. I met a wonderful lecturer, Sheryll Sellman whose book, "Hormone Heresy" explains that EVERY phase of a woman's life is "pathologized" so that there are drugs for menstruation, birth control, infertility, and then menopause. Almost have the women in the US are encouraged to have their uterus taken out at 50! It's insane! The medical model is unbelievably invasive, often vile and generally violent. AS for vaccines, the medical field just a century ago had a "disease" on the books called, get this, "Hospital bed disease." You know what it was? Doctors were too arrogant to wash their hands as they went bed to bed. They could touch someone with something HIGHLY contagious, and then introduce it to another patient, like say a birthing woman's womb! I remember sitting next to a nurse on a plane leaving Miami and joking about the medical field having used LEECHES 100 years ago. She looked at me to explain they still do! There is so much arrogance in this "priesthood." As for vaccines, I made the decision not to use them and it was a battle to get my kids into school, but this was 20 years ago before big pharma had the clout it has today.

One point NOT discussed in this article is that if chelation does not show improvement, these children remain seriously handicapped FOR LIFE. Imagine the toll that takes on the parents? Imagine the theft to life.

I'm not interested in getting into a debate about who said what. Vaccinations are mandated because they not only protect you, but the people you come into contact with. So this is understandable to some degree.

The fact that the educational system strives to turn out "patriotic" automatons that work hard and become good little consumers can be countered by good parenting. And there is home-schooling as well but, admittedly, that's not an option for everyone. No one seems to want to parent anymore, or maybe they are too tired to care, so they just plop their kids in front of the TV and leave it at that. Or perhaps their main goal in life it to not appear too poor, too different, or whatever.

Corroboration keeps scientists honest because results have to be verified and that diminishes the possibility of conflicts of interest, especially if it involves different industries in different countries. That being said, nothing is completely bullet proof.

Most people I speak with are completely unaware that life expectancy is greater in just about every other industrialized county than the US, even while only spending a fraction of what the US spends on health care. Often times, those same people are not even interested; they are too brainwashed by corporate media propaganda.

Also, it seems that those who complain most about the "nanny state" are of a libertarian bent, and well to do. Some seem almost sociopathic in that regard, and have a love-hate relationship with government. Who's supposed to pay for the police that protect them from the less well off? It's true that government sometimes goes too far in being up your behind, especially when the costs outweigh the benefits. Sweden is probably one of the worst "nanny states" of all, high taxes, regulations, etc., but the difference is that most of the money is spent on their welfare and protection, rather than war toys, so few complain.

Getting back to vaccines, it's like everything else in the US: profit is put above the welfare of the people. In my view, until the majority gets that and starts to care, nothing will change, so it is likely to get worse before it gets better.

What you can do to protect your children is ask your doctor if his vaccines contain Thimerosal, and if they do, insist on an alternative. If he/she refuses, than find another doctor. But, please, get your children vaccinated. We don't want whooping cough and polio to make comeback!

Isn't it more likely that people just ramble sometimes? (I tend to). I posted a couple the other day and when I went back and saw them, I thought, damn! I can't believe I am that wordy! And what kind of statement is--"they use 'experiment' and 'research' like a fundie creationist? The person probably uses the words as he understands them. He has as much right to as you do. In addition, I haven't seen a whole lot of suggestions for steps to take against a society that "mandates" everything. I see a lot of words about peace and light etc. with the occasional practical step we can take. We live in a nanny state with nanny laws with none of the comforts of having a nanny. We mandate that kids must go to school or their parents will be thrown in the clink, but then if the parents don't give their kids the vaccines, the school won't let the child go, and the parent can be arrested. They club people over the head again and again with nanny laws. People just need to be able to make their own choices. Alvin Toffler of Future Shock fame said he would do away with our current schools. They were designed to turn out factory workers--punch the clock on time. Raise your hand if you want to go pee. They were not designed to teach children to think or be creative. He would, of course, replace them with something that provoked creativity. He has a new book out dealing with these issues.

As far as "consensus" goes, consensus in science does not necessarily equal the truth. Often, it just means the scientists are all eating out of the same trough. If you get a certain paradigm, and it is invested with millions and millions of dollars in research money, then it is hard to do anything but go along with the status quo or lose your funding. Asone scientist I accused of being a Glaxo-Wellcome whore because he made speeches pushing their meds replied "I've two kids in private school." "You gotta admit," he said, "It buys a lot of groceries." Has anyone ever heard of the Concorde studies in relation to HIV?

At the risk of running the chance (I don't give a damn) of being called a "troll"--with the ooooooooh dark side (satan? CIA? fundie creationist) I'll quit writing now. Geez! I thought I was paranoid. Some of these posts make me feel absolutely sane. While I am sure there are "trolls" from the FBI and or CIA or local cops who infiltrate peace groups (it's been proven), doesn't the idea that someone would just sit around trying to sabatoge brilliant thoughts on "progressive" websites smack just a little of too much self-importance? Some of us just sit and stew with our apparent helplessness of the crap going on around us and we look for an outlet for our frustrations--and get too damn wordy trying to respond. A lot of people believe in creation but are also lefties, and work for peace, feed the hungry; but scientists are often seen as the new priests and science is treated like a religion, and because they wear a white lab coat instead of a robe doesn't make what they say sacred. And as for peer-review, it is often just Peter telling Paul he is a fine fellow. Unfortunately, peer-review can be an old boy's club, too. The history of science is replete with the lone maverick going up against the "peer-reviewed" establishment and being virtually destroyed before his science is proven to be true. People, yes even scientists, will resist the truth if it means facing the fact that their entire career has been spent chasing an idea or theory that is not true. This is human nature.

An issue the pharma industry refuses to address is the growing realization that each individual has specific susceptibilities and resistances due to their genetic consitution. One child who can have injections all day and never devolope autism can mask another who will succomb to a single vaccine. I have no proof that that's what's happening here, but it's a good theory.
Will the pharma industry agree to genetically test children before each vaccination? HA! Good one. Obviously the specific alleles have not yet been identified, sot he answer is resounding NO, even if it were financially feasible. The tragedy is were caught beween knowledge and ignorance. In 10, 20 years we'll be able to tell exactly who NOT to vaccinate. For those individuals, herd immunity will suffice.
Of course, a good precaution would be to find a mercury-free preservative!

Folks, as you notice, I had said in my post that there are trolls on this website, working for the DARK side, and preventing the honest folk here from coming toghether in mind and strategy on any progressive issue of moment. I had also said that I had laid some traps to catch them in my post.

Now think whether the juxtaposition of a lengthy, rambling post next to mine, giving the impression that it is a continuation of my post, thereby not allowing many who are just glancing through to avoid reading the my post and the points that I raised therein, and having some sustained discussion on them.

Without sounding paranoidal, the apparent incoherence of the post, it's length and juxtaposition may not be all that coincidental. I have seen the poster elsewhere, but he uses "experiment","research" and other words in this post but in a way a fundie, creationist would use.

Vaccines are a valuable tool in preventing disease. I don't quite understand the near hysteria of the previous poster. Thank God for the polio vaccine! However, I do agree that it is pure nuts to inject mercury into very young children (or anyone for that matter), especially when they go to such great lengths to test for lead poisoning. Even if there is a centimeter of doubt as to whether or not something is harmful to little children it should be stopped immediately, at least until it can be further investigated. We need good science, especially in medicine, and for that there must be collaboration. It always seemed rather odd to me that not much is reported about medicine in other countries; is it because we'll see how bad our health care system is by contrast? I applaud Michael Moore for documentary "Sicko."

It never ceases to amaze me. Ever. I've researched the vaccine issue for 3+ years. Thimerosal is simply the tip of the iceberg that has crushed and killed many children.

I rarely read the words "aluminum" and "thimerosal" in the same article. Aluminum acts as a catalyst or booster to the destructiveness of thimerosal. There's anit-freeze in vaccines. Google "vaccines ingredients". There is so much more toxin in it than you would believe.

Then there's scientists who marginalize it and say "yeah, but it's just 8 micrograms" as if that somehow lessened the toxicty of the second most toxic substance on the planet. Just a little, tiny bit of this stuff is extremely toxic. You can absorb it through the skin, you know? But to go and inject it right into the bloodstream is fucking nuts. That's because these toxins go right to the engine room of our immune system (bone marrow) and fuck it up.

How? By overstimulating the immune system response. By tricking your body to create anti-bodies that are arbitrarily and artificially present. As if your body doesn't know how to do that on it's own. Yet people think vaccines work. Nuts!

Take the pertussis vaccine. It's a bacteria, and it's spread by contact. You don't need a vaccine for it. You need to keep your school and home clean. The old adage is true: cleanliness is next to Godliness. I don't know who got that bright idea because it actually backward: if you don't have your health, you don't have anything.

But here's the Association of Pediatricians pushing pertussis vaccine, and gee, if it really worked, why oh why do the kids who get whooping cough are the same kids who were vaccinated for it? I'll tell you why: because their bodies are too busy continuously fighting off imaginary vaccine introduced sickness that there isn't enough immune system resources to fight off the easy ones.

A friend of mine got me interested in this 6 years ago. I dropped it until 3 years ago. Her 3 kids are not vaxed, for anything. They are healthy. As a mom very involved in her community (and not richfilth) she will tell you that on average the vaxed kids are sick once a month. These are kids who weren't struck down by autism.

I have horror stories for you, but no time to tell them. If you've been vaxed and suffer from arthritis, it's most likely a vaxed introduced disease.

Just bear in mind that vaccines are classified by the CDC as immuno-suppresants (!!!!), and that the thimerosal-autism link MUST, at all costs, be proven incorrect, because if word ever gets out, then we'll will start looking at all the other vaccine-autoimmune disorder links: Lupus, arthritis, et cetera. People, these are not just inflamations, these are the very symptoms of a messed up immune system.

If you don't want to do research, then do experiments on yourself: find out which heavy metal removal diets work for you. If you remove the metals, you also remove the majority of your body's persistent biological toxins (PBT, courtesy of....wait for it... the CDC) because the metals are salts, and in that form easily bind with other toxins.

And just to be sure, these removal diets are NOT fun. If you feel lousy, keep on going. When your skin breaks out, ignore it and keep on going. I did mine last year, age 30 something and whoa! I looked like shit and felt like it to because your skin is your largest organ. Sweat it out. But man oh man, after 10 days I literally felt reborn.

I keep returning to this website, CD, because I sense that there are many, many, people here who are passionate in their consciousness, compassionate and thirsting for social justice, peace. These are signs that the Light is present here but still not fully formed in the group to become a beacon of light itself as group. There is too much hysteria, flailing away at the many problems, sounding of clichés about MSM, capitalism and so on and so forth. But the problems of lack of focus and attention, the lack of allowing the mind to think creatively with implementable solutions or ways to start the ball rolling RIGHT NOW against the forces of the DARKNESs that envelopes America is not there. This article is the perfect example for me to make my points in context, although I have made my points before but without a superb context as this article gives me. Therefore I will make my points here and people can take this and analogise for other problems. I just want to remind people that the LIGHT only helps people who use their minds to the fullest and be pro-active with well-thought out ATTEMPTS at solutions. No fantastic solution is going to emerge by miracle, but only by a process of calm and focused reasoning in a Socratic dialectic will the LIGHT show such solutions.

That is the reality, and raising a dust storm of hysteria and missing out on key information in information that the LIGHT sends you along with solutions, if care to grasp the key points, will not make the DARKNESS magically disappear. It pervades American society. Also beware that there are trolls here from the DARKNESS who will use sophistry to not discuss important points but to distract your thinking away from sharpening your abilities. They want you to be a hysterical, unfocused, mob reflecting away the LIGHT when it hits you on the face and thus remain unenlightened. I have designed a test for the TROLLS in this post. See if you can catch them.

The question I have, and which Robert Kennedy should have asked Katie Wright, if not Bob Wright self directly, is why has not NBC scheduled any programming to reveal the conspiracy of silence by the DARKNESS. Remember, NBC was one of the main cheer leaders of the war against Iraq.

Is the man so heartless that he cannot see what his daughter has found out - - CORPORATE GREED would have taken the life of his grandson, and is currently taking the lives of thousands of innocent children of both the have-nots and haves? Why does it need Robert Kennedy to take up this fight?

This is "tobacco is not cancerous" déjà vous. Bob Wright has the MONEY and the social contacts among the conscientious rich (yes, there are such human beings) to:

a. Gather these scientists in a massive international conference with the full glare of NBC TV spreading it to the apathetic denizens of America what the lies are.

b. Publish in massive amounts of colourful brochures, about one page two-sided (about 10 million say at $1 each) and leave them at doctors' offices, grocery stores, and anywhere where Joe Six Pack frequents. That will rouse the great unwashed on the mercury-vaccination poisoning in ALL vaccines for children.

c. Fund and staff 100 international medical journals on epidemiology and vaccination- - if the number of scientists who form the "overwhelming science—hundreds of research studies" is that large, say at least a 1000. They may include some NOBEL LAUREATES. They can BLANKET the academic world, drown out the DARKNESS, and let light shine. This is what happened to tobacco. Once this is in place, use the forces of darkness and their own greed in the form of CLASS ACTION lawyers to do the rest following the strategies honed in the battle against tobacco. As somebody knowledgeable in the journal business, one can start these ONLINE, OPEN SOURCE, PEER REVIEWED journals for about $50,000 initial capital, a University Base, and then becoming self supporting, without selling their souls to corporate greed.

If this is the case, and there are at least 1000 well heeled mothers in this group who can afford anywhere from from $1000 to $10,000 to bring out this hidden information, then why is $5 million not sufficient to file a class action lawsuit against these Federal agencies under the "Freedom of Information" or other such law to get this people's information out to the people? And here again NBC can help massively to organize public support among the TV zonked American public as to what is going on.

I sent an e-mail to the president/dictator a couple years ago and made a request. I suggested that if he and his staff considered depleted uranium safe it would go along way to assuage our doubts of it's safety if they as a group would agree to inhale depleted uranium vapor to show that it was safe. I never recieved a response and never heard anything about them doing it.

Does the human race really deserve to suffer because of this pollution? I understand the anger and frustration expressed in your comment, but wonder whether it might not be misdirected. The problem is that a very FEW people push these policies of pollution and control a media that feeds us a false information. Whether it is the CDC protecting vaccine manufacturers from lawsuits by covering up information, or politicians making energy policies that go against the direction the ENTIRE COUNTRY is leaning, these decisions are being made AGAINST the vast majority of us. We are told, over and over again, that it is our civic responsibility to vote, yet we cannot get a candidate nominated for office who is not a whore to Corporate America, or Global Trade. Reducing mercury in the environment is very possible - along with many other chemicals. If the mercury in coal fired power plant exhaust was reduced maybe the Wisconsin Fishing regulations would not have to contain warnings about the number and kind of fish it is safe to eat.

There is no doubt that massive uncontrolled chemical contamination of people is massively stupid. The human race deserves to suffer for polluting ourselves. The fact that we are poisoning our children and grandchildren is psychotic and evil.

I was long a doubter on this subject. But, after personal experience with a child who changed at 2½ years after administration of mercury laced vaccine, I changed my mind.

The CDC is well aware of the link between Thimerasol and autism. A search for "Simpsonwood" and "mercury" should turn up the leaked minutes from the meeting. None of those present were allowed to take notes, nor to take any of the information at the meeting away with them, but the information was so damning that one doctor panics, realizing that his grandson is supposed to be getting a vaccination that very morning. Doctors are complicit in this cover up, but I think it is nothing unusual among the US citizenry. We hear, but we don't believe. It is impossible to face the difficulty of having to police everything that goes into our bodies and to doubt every agency that tells us everything is "safe". Monsanto's artificial Bovine Growth Hormone is a prime example of a very dangerous substance with known, and significant, health risks that is EVERYWHERE. Monsanto pushed legislation to prevent makers of dairy products from labeling their products as free of rGBH. The approval process for the use of rGBH was rigged, as are most things that go through our regulatory agencies, these days.

It would be easy to get sidetracked from autism and mercury with the many lies, false assumptions and omissions of the medical industry, so I will summarize that aspect as the marketing of fear. We hear warnings about getting flu shots on the news at least twice, yearly. Our doctors pressure us to get chicken pox vaccines for our children, telling us that it can be a truly dangerous illness, though, interestingly, it is MORE dangerous to vaccinate a young child against chicken pox, because it is now coming out that the vaccine is NOT for life. It is, instead, good for about 20 years. Chicken pox is NOT likely to be dangerous in children, but it is VERY dangerous if contracted as an adult. If you vaccinate your four-year-old, he or she will be safe from chicken pox UNTIL he or she is an adult when the illness is potentially DEADLY. Yes, as I said, easy to get sidetracked.

I want to return, however, to the issue of mercury. Right now, we are at a critical juncture, as we all know, with energy policies. We are fighting a war for control of the world's oil resources and it seems sensible to turn away from that resource rather than sacrificing lives to obtain it. However, there is a bipartisan push to turn, rather than to RENEWABLE energy sources, to COAL. Coal is the most toxic of all fossil fuels. Aside from the significantly increased impact it has on global warming, it releases MERCURY into the environment. Indiana, a major user of coal, has some of the worst mercury contamination in the country. While injecting our children with mercury-based preservatives is unthinkable, it should not be any better to consider injecting it into our water supply in exchange for cheap electricity.

The time for trust is long passed. There is no doubt that the ruling class in the United States is corrupt and without regard for the lives of any but their own. We simply cannot assume that vaccinations are okay (needed? sensible?) or turn on our light switches (I say as I type away on my computer) without considering the COSTS.

We can fight the 'corporations as persons' issue...but I would suggest we move beyond that. Riane Eisler's The Real Wealth of Nations' is a much smarter solution all around. She confronts the 'dominator economy--essentially I either dominate or am dominated" and replaces it with a Partnership economy--essentially valuing human life, natural life and building an economy that supports high quality of life vs. money/stuff in the dominator economy. As you'll see--research already shows that the Partnership economy is a smarter way for a business to thrive than the current dominator --successful business using the partnership model is SAS in North Carolina--

And for those dealing with the vaccination issue....the option to use homeopathic vaccinations is available. Unlike current vaccinations which use actual virus/bacteria (along with the mercury)...homeopathic vaccinations work from the other side--there's no threat of any illness at all. Homepathic dilutions stimulate the body to trigger its own solution (like cures like) and have been utlized effectively in Europe for ages. AMA and the pharmaceutical companies effectively crushed the homeopathic industry in the early 1900's--but over the last 30 years many people in the US have realized what a valuable option they are!

It is true that the language to make corporate rights almost the same as persons was inserted into the header of the decision in Santa Clara v. S.P. Railroad by an acting Clerk of the Court in 1886. The header has no legal standing. The Clerk of the Court has no legal standing or authority. This lie is still in the books reporting on Supreme Court cases, and the header has been used and continues to be used by subsequent courts as stare decisis.

Since the courts will not acknowledge that giving corporations the same rights (almost) as persons is not legal or constitutional, we must limit or end it in state law. That is the only place possible to us, because all corporations are chartered/formed by state law not federal law. It is not clear because of the state chartering that Congress could pass a law removing corporate standing as persons.

Many of you are probably aware of Tom DeLay's involvement in attempts to secrets slip language into legislation in committee to protect Eli Lilly from all liability associated with Thimerosal. Utterly Dethpickable!

I could not agree more. Direct confrontation with the corporate behemoths is playing their game and they know how to play their own game. Progressives need to not only build organizations without borders, but I think also to create and spread memes to alter the consciousness of people everywhere, in ways the corporate media and other corporate criminals will have difficulty counteracting.

It isn't just the mercury in vaccines. The EPA says that 1 in 6 women of child-bearing age have excessive mercury in their bodies. This can be passed on to children. Perhaps the combination of vaccines and what the child already has causes an overload.

It's not just the mercury. Most chemicals in use in this country have never been tested. The idea is that they are innocent until definitely proven harmful. Also, the combination of chemicals is worse than single chemicals.

The dangers of mercury poisoning have been known for years - how could this substance ever be considered safe in children's medicine? Aren't vaccines usually drawn from the poison they intend to prevent, in a low dosage or normally non-damaging dose? The idea being flu vaccine, eg, gives you a light dose of the flu which your system can fight to prevent you from getting an external dose which will overwhelm your unprepared system. Isn't it a known fact that some percentage of those vaccinated will suffer more than the average vaccinee, possibly even die? Wasn't this the problem with vaccinating everyone against smallpox when that scare came up a few years ago?

Much of the science fiction I read when I was younger portrayed future universes run by corporations. No nations or even planets, just corporations racing each other through the galaxies to find the next big profit maker. Often the profiteering universe was just the background for the action story, but corporate rule was accepted as the norm. Why were all these writers able to see what was on the horizon while most of us slept? Too many in America mistakenly believe that Democracy = Capitalism. Nothing, as the past 30 years has proven, could be further from the truth.

It's not just government and the pharmaceutical industry that's failing our kids on this issue, it's also doctors, who for the the most part, adamantly defend vaccinations (I think partly to avoid the horror of having mistakenly harmed children, and partly to cling to the supposed heroic power of vaccines).

I wish Michael Moore would document this aspect of the failure of healthcare in the US....
